Embodiments of an electrical connector may have a first end portion on which a first interface is arranged and a second end portion on which a second interface is arranged. The first interface and second interface can each be connected to a respective mating electrical connector. The first interface may form at least two contact element pairs with the second interface, each of the contact element pairs having a first contact element which is associated with the first interface and a second contact element which is mechanically connected to the first contact element and is associated with the second interface. A third interface between the first end portion and the second end portion may electrically and mechanically connect at least one of the contact element pairs to a printed circuit board on which the electrical connector may be mounted.

In one embodiment an insert is disposed over a plurality of spring-biased fingers of the outer conductor to prevent deformation of the fingers in an unassembled condition/state by insertion of the non-mating connector. In another embodiment, the insert includes a plurality of radial members disposed between a central hub and an outer ring to prevent insertion of the non-mating connector.

A grounding clamp is provided that includes a grounding wire having two ends that are each configured to extend out an opening in a coaxial cable. The grounding clamp includes a housing configured to receive both ends of the extending wire in an inner chamber through a first opening, the housing including a second opening configured to receive a lug, wherein the lug is configured to secure both ends of the grounding wire within the inner chamber. A method of installing a grounding clamp includes attaching a fishline to a grounding wire and inserting the fishline through an opening of a corrugated coaxial cable in a valley located between an outer conductor and an outer jacket of the coaxial cable, wherein the fishline is rigid enough that it does not buckle or deform significantly under the pressure of the outer conductor and the outer jacket, wherein the fishline is flexible enough that it bends around the corrugated coaxial cable. A drill bit for creating an opening in a coaxial cable is also contemplated, along with a tool for fishing the grounding wire through the coaxial cable.

A coaxial cable device and method for establishing weld and mate connectivity across a coaxial cable. The device includes an outer conductor engager and an inner conductor engager wherein the outer conductor engager includes a weld interface for engagement with a first portion of a coaxial cable, and wherein the inner conductor engager includes a mate interface for engagement with a second portion of the cable.
