The invention relates to a method for producing a structured voluminous non-woven fabric, comprising the following steps: producing a spunbonded non-woven fabric consisting of a plurality of monofilaments which are stretched only at 50 to 70% of the maximum possible stretch range to form a fiber skein and subsequent processing the raw non-woven fabric by means of a second pair of rollers ( ) with a metal outer jacket to improve the velvet finish. Process for producing a structured, voluminous nonwoven

The present invention provides a mold having a mold face with color zones delimited from each other on the mold face by separation fins, a powder pan which contains at least two different colored powders so as to not intermix, coupling means to couple the mold and the powder pan during a powder-slush process, means for rotating the mold to distribute and deposit the powder onto substantially an entire surface of the mold including all color zones; and cutting means for cutting a slush skin extending over a different color zone. The cutting means is slidably contactable with the separation fins in a direction of the longer axis of the separation fins.

Process for producing multicolored, slush skins, and mold and separating

In the course of producing a multicolored slush skin in accordance with the powder-slush method, individual one-piece slush skins are produced in successive process steps, which extend over the entire mold, which is divided into individual color zones by means of separation fins. After the first slush skin with the first color has been produced, the area assigned to another color is cut off and this part taken out of the mold, the other part of the slush skin remaining in the mold. Subsequently a complete second slush skin is formed in the previously emptied partial area as well as in the area of the remaining first slush skin, etc. A multicolored slush skin, looking from the grain side, then is the result after it is finally taken out of the mold, which is distinguished by an exact and visually tidy separating seam between the individual color areas.

Process for producing multicolored slush skins

A pressure- and vacuum-moldable foam sheeting, consisting of a foam layer, on which is applied a decorative layer, and optionally a primer layer as well as additional layers, for lining the interior of vehicles, is described. It is distinguished owing to the fact that the foam layer has a) a density of approximately 25 to 200 kg/m.sup.3, b) an elongation at break according to DIN 53571 of at least about 50% and c) a compression hardness according to DIN 53577 of at least 50 kPa (at 50% deformation). Preferably, the foam layer consists of a polyolefin. This vacuum-and pressure-moldable foam sheeting does not require any PVC material for its foam layer; disposal problems are thus eliminated. Because of the low weight of the foam sheeting, there is very little rejected material during secondary processing. The foam sheeting is distinguished by good mechanical properties and satisfies the demanding delivery conditions of the automobile industry.

A multilayered polyurethane upholstery material wherein the upper cover layer is designed as a color fast and non-abrasive polyurethane layer with high porosity. Right next to it a foamed lining layer which partially merges into the following layer made of fleece. This fleece layer consists of a fleece impregnated with a binder with suction and storage properties. The highly porous cover layer can let moisture pass through and give it off to the lower fleece layer, so that the cover layer itself remains free.

A multi-layer arrangement of films which is capable of being deep-drawn including at least an upper and lower film, which is backed by a foam layer, for example, polyurethane foam, for the fabrication of molded objects such as automobile dashboards or similar parts, wherein at least one layer (12, 14) contains particulate pigments which are added during the fabrication of the film and which have essentially no effect on the color of the upper layer (12).

Multi-layer film arrangement capable of being deep-drawn

An apparatus for producing a coating on a laminar carrier member, in particular for dressing split leather or similar substrates, comprises a supporting base having a surface consisting of silicon rubber or silicone resin, onto which surface is applied a liquid coating material by means of an electrostatic spraying device arranged above the supporting base for the purpose of producing a foil forming the visible side of the coating after solidification of the coating material. The surface of the supporting base is preferably provided with an embossed pattern, for example with the grain structure of natural leather. For the purpose of improving the adhesion of the foil, formed by solidification of the liquid coating material, on the supporting base, the surface of this supporting base is provided with a microscopic roughness. Alternatively, the area of the supporting base adjacent the aforesaid surface is made electrically conductive and held at a predetermined electrical potential. Microscopic roughness can be obtained by embedding filler materials within the area of the surface of the supporting base. Microscopic roughness can, also be obtained by mechanical, electrical, and/or chemical surface treatment.

Apparatus for producing a coating on a laminar carrier member

Leather sheets having desired grain pattern are mounted on a roller with edges abutting. Onto the surface of the grain pattern a silicone synthetic resin is applied as a uniformly thick coating with a coating knife as the roller rotates. The resin is hardened into a matrix. It is then peeled off the grain pattern. The grain pattern in the matrix is interrupted where the leather sheets abutted. The matrix is placed with the pattern outward on a roller whose diameter pretty much matches the diameter of the embossing roller to be produced. The surface of a tubular thermoplastic film is embossed by contact with the cylindrical matrix under heat and pressure. The embossed surface of the thermoplastic film is once again overembossed under heat and pressure in the areas along the abutting edges of the natural grain pattern on the roller, so that an endless positive impression without seams in the grain's pattern is produced. Another layer of silicone rubber is applied to the positive impression, which layer is vulcanized into a matrix which is peeled off the positive form and adhered to the circumferential surface of the embossing roller with the negative side out. With this embossing roller a natural leather grain can be embossed on a thermoplastic film without the appearance of discontinuities at the abutting edges.
