An electric exhaust turbocharger () has a turbine wheel (), a compressor wheel () that is non-rotatably connected to the turbine wheel (), and an electric drive motor having a stator () and a rotor (). The rotor () is fixed to a rotor shaft () and is connected non-rotatably to the turbine wheel () and the compressor wheel () via the rotor shaft (). The rotor () is arranged axially between the turbine wheel () and the compressor wheel () on the rotor shaft (). Roller bearings (') are arranged between the rotor () and the turbine wheel () on the one hand and between the rotor () and the compressor wheel () on the other hand. A single separate shaft bearing cassette () with a cassette frame () supports the two roller bearings (′).

Electric exhaust turbocharger

An exhaust turbocharger has a housing, in which a shaft is mounted by bearings, which carries a turbine wheel, on the one hand, and a compressor wheel, on the other hand. An electric machine has a rotor and a stator. The rotor is secured on the shaft for conjoint rotation therewith and the stator surrounds the rotor radially on the outside. A sleeve, which supports the rotor radially and axially, is arranged between the stator and the rotor. The sleeve has at least one fluid duct, by way of which a cooling fluid can be guided toward the bearings of the shaft.

Exhaust turbocharger

A cooling arrangement for cooling charge air of a supercharged internal combustion engine. In a charge-air line that leads to the internal combustion engine, there are provided a compressor arrangement, which has at least one compressor stage, and an expansion arrangement, which has at least one expansion stage for lowering the pressure level and thus for cooling the charge air. A cooling device is provided between the compressor arrangement and the expansion arrangement. The at least one compressor stage and the at least one expansion stage are connected in series and are respectively connected in terms of drive to an electric motor. The compressor arrangement has at least two compressor stages connected in parallel.

Cooling arrangement for cooling charge air of a supercharged internal combustion engine

Exhaust gas from a first outlet port () of a cylinder () of a combustion engine () can flow through the first turbocharger (), and exhaust gas from a second outlet port () of the cylinder () can flow through the second turbocharger (). A first connecting duct () can supply the second turbine () with exhaust gas from the first turbine (). The first connecting duct () is connected to a first bypass duct () that issues into a tailpipe line () downstream of the second turbine () to bypass the second turbine (). The first bypass duct () has a second control valve () that can block the first bypass duct (). The first connecting duct () has a first control valve () that can block the first connecting duct () to prevent exhaust gas from flowing through the first turbine () to the second turbine ().
