A ceramic material which contains yttrium oxide as stabilizers and at least one of the materials erbium oxide or ytterbium oxide provides a phase having sintering stability for a ceramic material for ceramic layers and a ceramic layer system which maintain the mechanical and thermal properties for a long time even when used at high temperatures.

Known protective layers having a high Cr content and additionally a silicon form brittle phases which additionally become brittle under the influence of carbon during use. Alloy, protective layer and component

Known protective layers having a high Cr-content and a silicone in addition, form brittle phases that embrittle further under the influence of carbon during use. The protective layer according to the invention is composed of 22% to 26% cobalt (Co), 10.5% to 12% aluminum (Al), 0.2% to 0.4% Yttrium (Y) and/or at least one equivalent metal from the group comprising Scandium and the rare earth elements, 15% to 16% chrome (Cr), optionally 0.3% to 1.5% tantal, the remainder nickel (Ni).

The use of different ceramic layers allows different configurations of gas turbines to be produced each of which is optimized for a respective use of base load operation or peak load operation.

Through the use of different ceramic heat insulation coatings () on turbine blades, it is possible to produce or restore different configurations of gas turbines, which are then optimized for a respective baseload operation application or peak load operation application. Differences in the sprayed-on heat insulation coatings () can be generated by means of a different material composition of the powder, for example zirconium oxide, by means of a different number of layers (), by means of different coating thicknesses and/or by means of different porosities.

A metallic coating or alloy is provided. The metallic coating or alloly includes iron, chromium, aluminum, tantalum, and nickel and contains no rhenium. The presence of tantalum and iron and the absence of rhenium are effective to increase a &#x3b3;/&#x3b3;' transition temperature of the alloy. A component including the metallic coating or alloy is also provided.

Known protective coatings with a high Cr-content and silicon as an additive have brittle phases which become additionally brittle under the influence of carbon during use. The protective coating herein has a double metallic layer that only contains tantalum on the outside contents of the layers.

A bond coating having high corrosion and oxidation resistance and good compatibility with a thermal barrier coating is disclosed. The bond coating may be an optimized NiCrAlY material with additional materials that eliminates the presence of beta phase for oxidation by replacing the beta phase with a gamma/gamma prime system. The bond coating may also decrease the presence of phases that are detrimental to the mechanical and oxidation properties of the system, such as the sigma and BCC chromium phases. The bond coating may also have a gamma/gamma prime transition temperature that is about 400 degrees Celsius higher than conventional bond coatings, which enables local stresses to be reduced.

Known protective layers having high Cr content and additional silicon form brittle phases, which additionally become brittle under the effect of carbon during use. The protective layer according to the invention comprises a two-part metal layer, which contains tantalum on the outside.

A two-layered NiCoCrAlY layer is provided. The layer includes a bottom and a top layer. Through the use of a two-layered NiCoCrAlY layer, it is possible to reduce the formation of cracks in the thermally grown oxide layer as forms on account of the protective action of the NiCoCrAlY layers.

Layer system comprising an nicocraly double protective layer with differing chromium content and alloy

A metallic coating is provided. The nickel based metallic coating includes tantalum, cobalt, chromium, and aluminum. The nickel based metallic coating does not include silicon and/or hafnium and/or zirconium. A tantalum addition in nickel based coating stabilized the phases gamma/gammaat high temperatures leading to a reduction of local stresses.
