A fresh air supply device is disclosed which is connected upstream of a blower of a heating or air conditioning unit in a motor vehicle. The blower is accommodated by a housing with the fresh air entering into a gap between the windscreen and the adjacent hood. The fresh air is deflected while water and foreign bodies are separated and is supplied to a filter underneath the hood. The filter can be exchanged by pulling it out upwards. Downstream of the filter, the air enters the intake side of the blower. In order to prevent unintentional heating up of the fresh air in the intake tract, while retaining easy exchangeability of the filter, the filter is covered by an intake scoop which can be moved away and is thermally shielded relative to the vehicle hood or bonnet.

Fresh air supply device for vehicles

In a blower housing arrangement for a motorized vehicle of the type with a blower encased by a housing followed by a duct system, a preferably open-pore foam material is utilized for noise damping, this foam material being sealed at least on the inside of the housing by means of a skin. This foam material is locally supported and bordered along the edges by wall sections of the housing and/or of the duct system so that, in this zone, the foam material is the sole means of forming the wall. The wall sections constitute a skeleton which, at least during normal driving operation, is dimensionally rigid and supportive and which serves for the accommodation of installation components, operating parts, and mounting elements.

Blower housing arrangement

A heating and air-conditioning installation for motor vehicles, in which an adjustable desired temperature is kept constant in the interior space of the motor vehicle independently of changing conditions, includes a heat-exchanger connected to the hot water circulation of the engine as well as an adjusting member on whose position is dependent the heat quantity supplied to the vehicle interior space; the position of the adjusting member is controlled by an output signal produced by an electronic circuit as a function of the sensor detecting the heat quantity supplied to the vehicle interior space, an interior sensor, a setting device and an outside sensor; a switching device operable to switch from fresh-air operation to recirculated-air operation is also controlled as a function of a signal of the electronic circuit; the electronic circuit includes a delay element to produce a time-delayed intermediate signal from the values obtained from the interior sensor, the outside sensor and the setting device; the intermediate signal produces together with the value determined by the sensor detecting the heat quantity supplied to the vehicle interior space, an output signal for the adjusting member; the electronic circuit also produces a signal as a function of the difference between the value detected by the outside sensor and the value determined at the setting device which controls the switching over from fresh-air circulation to recirculated-air operation.
