A polarization filter for a high frequency wave guided in a waveguide has an entry section in which wave types that are orthogonally polarized in relation to one another are capable of propagating. The filter also comprises two first exit sections which extend along the length of the entry section, which are separated by a septum, and which are provided for a first wave type. In addition, the filter has two second exit sections which laterally extend in the plane of the septum, which are provided for the second wave type, and which are configured as coaxial conductors.

Broadband polarization filter

A polarization separating filter, which can be integrated into a planar hollow waveguide circuit, is comprised of a central hollow waveguide ( ), in which two orthogonal, linearly polarized waves can be propagated, where one end of the central hollow waveguide ( ) is closed by a short circuit wall ( ) and in the vicinity of the short circuit wall ( ), two waveguides ( ) are coupled to two opposing walls of the central hollow waveguide ( ), in an at least approximately identical cross sectional plane extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hollow waveguide. The hollow waveguides ( ) coupled at the end of the central hollow waveguide ( ) are rotated in relation to each other in terms of their cross sections so that the fields in them are oriented orthogonally to each other.

Polarization separating filter having a polarization separating plate

A junction for orthogonally oriented waveguides including a transformation stage which has a first oblong opening for connecting a first waveguide which is designed to carry a first ground wave type, and a second oblong opening for connecting a second waveguide which is designed to carry a second ground wave type. The first oblong opening and the second oblong opening are oriented orthogonally with respect to each other. The transformation stage has an essentially right-angled geometry with a height, a width and a depth, where the height and the width are chosen such that both the first ground wave type and the second ground wave type are propagated in the transformation stage.

Junction for orthogonally oriented waveguides

A waveguide switch having a stator and an electrically conducting movable element, the stator having waveguide paths between waveguide terminal pairs, each path being switchable to conducting or nonconducting with the help of the movable element for high-frequency waves. To permit lower requirements regarding manufacturing tolerances, the movable element is designed as a septum in a gap in the stator and extends in the waveguide path, which is switched to nonconducting, in parallel to its E plane. This divides the waveguide path into two partial waveguides, which run in parallel with one another and, in comparison with the switched-to-conducting state of the waveguide path, have smaller cut-off wavelengths.

A simply made and very broad band directional coupler includes a hollow middle section (CS) provided with an empty interaction space having two ends, one pair of hollow guides (H1, H3) coupled to one end of the interaction space, another pair of hollow guides coupled to another end of the interaction space and a coupler diaphragm (KB1, KB2, KB3, KB4) provided between the interaction space (KR) and each individual hollow guide coupled to it. Higher wave types (are consisting of TE11 and TM11 modes) propagated in the interaction space (KR) as well as a fundamental wave type (TE 10). Furthermore a height (h) of the interaction space is at least 2.5 times the smallest height (b) of a coupling diaphragm (KB1, KB2, KB3, KB4) so that a comparatively broad band directional coupler results.

Waveguide multiplexer/demultiplexer

A rotary waveguide coupling including coupling members which are coaxially rotatable with respect to one another and comprise waveguide sections produced by dividing an annular waveguide in a longitudinal sectional plane. Inputs and outputs of the waveguides to be rotated with respect to one another disposed in the side walls of the waveguide sections.
