A device for exchanging and for preventing the bending of the pushing-in bar () having two pivoting arms () which are pivotably mounted on a support () and can be pivoted by a drive pinion (). Supporting legs () which support the pushing-in bar () are fastened to the pivoting levers with the aid of a fastening element (). One of the fastening elements () is fixedly connected to one of the supporting legs (); the second fastening element () carries the pushing-in bar () without securing it in the longitudinal direction.

Apparatus for feeding articles into a lehr

A transport apparatus for use in a mass production is provided, which includes a first transport belt for transporting objects at either regular or irregular intervals and for discharging such objects at a zone of transfer. A second transport belt is included for receiving the objects at the zone of transfer from the first transport belt and for discharging the objects with equal spacings between such objects. An endlessly revolving articulated link chain, having chain links connected to one another by articulated links, has drivers mounted on every second articulated link. A first guide rail has a guide edge for displaceably guiding the articulated links upon which said drivers are mounted, while a second guide rail extends in a line deviating from the course of the first guide rail so that a spacing between the first guide rail and the second guide rail increases within the zone of transfer for temporarily reducing the spacing between the drivers. Arms arranged on the articulated links of the link chain, with the articulated links supporting the arms being disposed between the articulated links upon which the drivers are mounted. A guide body is mounted on each of the arms, with each of the guide bodies being guided by the second guide rail. The arms permit a substantially torsion-free deflection of the chain links within the zone of transfer.

Transport apparatus

A parallel movement mould mechanism for use in a glassware forming machine comprises mould mounted for movement on horizontal shafts and means (90, 102) for moving the mould supports comprising a cage assembly in which a piston and cylinder device linked to the mould supports is mounted, the cage assembly being mounted for adjustable pivotal movement with respect to shafts so that adjustment of the position of the cage assembly adjusts the position of the centre line of moulds supported on the mould supports.

A parallel movement mould mechanism for use in a glassware forming machine comprises mould supports mounted for movement on horizontal shafts and means for moving the mould supports comprising a cage assembly in which a piston and cylinder device linked to the mould supports is mounted, the cage assembly being mounted for adjustable pivotal (22) movement with respect to shafts so that adjustment of the position of the cage assembly adjusts the position of the center line of moulds (18) supported on the mould supports.

Glassware forming machine having a pivotally supported mold mechanism

The drive system comprises a motor (10) to drive a glass gob producing feeder, a motor (18) to drive a gob distributor for distributing the gobs to sections of a glass container manufacturing machine of the individual section type, and a motor (34) to drive a container-removing conveyor. The drive means supplies electrical signals to cause the motors to operate at desired speeds. The drive system comprises a source (52) of a basic frequency signal which can be varied by varying means (54) to determine the speed of the entire production line, means (58) for producing a gob distributor controlling signal by dividing the basic frequency by a factor reflecting the number of machine sections, and means (62,66) for producing a conveyor system controlling signal by multiplying the basic frequency by a factor reflecting the number and spacing of the containers.

Drive system for a glass container production line

The apparatus comprises a furnace, a forehearth channel (10) through which molten glass flows to a feeder (14, 16) which forms gobs (12) of molten glass, a gob distributor (24) which distributes the gobs to the sections (30) of a glassware forming machine of the individual section type (26) and control means (50) operable to determine operating parameters for the apparatus to allow a particular article to be manufactured. The parameters including the number of sections (30) which are to receive gobs and the speed at which those sections are to be operated, the parameters being determined from the available melting capacity of the furnace, the weight of the particular article and the speed at which it can be formed.
