The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material () having a metallic support layer () and a metallic bearing metal layer (), wherein the bearing metal layer () is a sinter layer () made of a copper/tin-based bronze powder (), wherein the bronze powder () comprises a metallic solid lubricant () which is not soluble or barely soluble in copper, such as bismuth in particular, and is applied to the support layer () in a pulverulent state and then sintered onto the support layer (); according to the invention, it is proposed that the bronze powder () is formed from powder fractions having different proportions of this solid lubricant (), wherein the solid lubricant proportion of a first powder fraction is greater than the solid lubricant proportion of a second powder fraction at least by a factor of 2.

Plain bearing composite material having a metallic support layer and a metallic bearing metal layer

A metallic composite material for a sliding bearing () has a metallic support layer (), in particular steel, and a bearing metal layer () based on copper-tin with 2-6 wt. % tin. The bearing metal layer () has 0.2-2 wt. % nickel. A sliding bearing element, which is to be used in or close to the motor, can be produced from this type of sliding bearing composite material ().

Metallic composite material for a sliding bearing comprising a metallic support layer

A sliding bearing for engine applications, in particular a sliding bearing shell for the mounting of the crankshaft or the camshaft or for use as a connecting-rod bearing shell, has a metallic supporting layer and, applied on top of that, a bearing metal layer of aluminum alloy, copper alloy or brass, the bearing metal layer having an 8-20 &#x3bc;m thick PTFB-free PAI-based coating applied on top of it, the PAI-based coating having 5-15% by weight zinc sulphide, 5-15% by weight graphite and 5-15% by weight TiOwith the ratio of zinc sulphide and graphite respectively to TiOin terms of their percentage by weight being 0.6-1.4 and the zinc sulphide and TiObeing present in a particle size of &#x2266;0.7 &#x3bc;m.

Sliding bearing shell for engine applications

A plain bearing is described having a bearing metal layer, supported by a support shell, made of an aluminum or copper alloy and having a lead-free running layer, possibly applied to the bearing metal layer over an intermediate layer, made of a zinc matrix having at least one further alloy element. To achieve good tribological properties, it is suggested that the zinc matrix of the running layer contains 1 to 49 wt.-% bismuth as an additional alloy element.

Plain bearing

A piston pin bushing consisting of a brass alloy containing between 30 and 32.2 wt. % zinc. between 1.8 and 2.2 wt. % aluminium, between 1.8 and 2.2 wt. % manganese, between 1.4 an 2.2 wt. % nickel and between 1.4 and 2.0 wt. % iron, in addition to optional contaminant-related constituents with a respective maximum content of 0.2 wt. % and a maximum total content of 1 wt. %, the remaining percentage consisting of copper. The bushing is cut in the form of a longitudinal section from a continuously cast pipe, whose exterior has been previously machined and can be used without being subjected to a forging process following the cutting operation.

The invention relates to a plain bearing composite material comprising a steel carrier layer and a bearing coating which is applied to the carrier layer in such a way that it cannot be removed and consists of lead-free aluminium bearing alloy consisting of between 4.4 and 6 wt. % of zinc, between 2.5 and 6 wt % of bismuth, between 1 and 2 wt. % of silicon, between 0.8 and 1.2 wt. % of copper and between 0.2 and 0.8 wt. % of magnesium, optionally a maximum of 0.2 wt. % each of titanium, nickel, manganese, and tin, optionally a maximum of 0.6 wt. % of iron, and also optionally respectively a maximum of 0.1 wt. % of impurity related additives, the total quantity thereof not amounting to more than 1 wt. % of the sum of the constituents. The aluminium bearing alloy forms an aluminium solid solution supersaturated with zinc, said zinc being finely distributed by solution annealing and subsequent chilling.

Plain bearing composite material

The invention relates to a big end bearing shell () for a connecting rod (), consisting of titanium or a titanium alloy. The shell comprises a support layer () consisting of steel and an anti-friction layer () for the crankshaft. According to the invention, the back of the support layer () is clad with a layer () of tin bronze material, with a thickness of 10-50 &#x3bc;m to prevent fretting corrosion and frictional abrasion.

Big and bearing shell

The invention relates to a plain bearing shell for supporting an engine crankshaft or camshaft, or as a connecting rod bearing shell of an engine, the plain bearing shell comprises a radially outward protruding holding projection in the region of the separating surface of the plain bearing shell. In order to simplify handling of the plain bearing shell during assembly, the bearing shell is formed in such a way that the holding projection merges continuously into one separating surface of the plain bearing shell, and is formed by a stamping tool from the outside of the plain bearing shell by an approach in which, in the region of the separating surface, the stamping tool compressively deforms the material on the outside of the plain bearing shell, essentially tangentially relative to the plain bearing shell and toward the separating surface, while a counter-holding mechanism is applied to the separating surface, to which mechanism the formed material of the holding projection extends.

A friction bearing composite material comprises a metal base layer, a porous support layer applied thereto, and a low friction layer made from PTFE forming a bearing surface for a bearing partner. The low friction material forming the sliding surface also fills the pores in the support layer and comprises at least 60 vol. % PTFE and 10-25 vol. % zinc sulphide. In order to achieve a high wear resistance with a low coefficient of friction, the low friction material further comprises 1.5-3.5 vol. % carbon fibers and 1-7 vol. % PFA.

Friction bearing composite material with a metal base layer

The invention relates to a connecting rod bearing shell or bushing for internal combustion engines or to a main bearing shell for crankshaft mounting in internal combustion engines, made of a sliding bearing composite material having a metal, preferably steel support layer and a metal sliding layer applied thereto. The sliding bearing composite material is suitable for all applications cited and the sliding layer is made up of a copper zinc alloy with 10-25 wt. % Zn. 1-3 wt. % Mn. 1-3 wt. % Ni. 2-6 wt. % Fe: the remainder being copper, and impurity elements, respectively accounting for a maximum of 0.1%, corresponding to a maximum overall sum of 1 wt. % and the sliding layer is exclusively crystallised in the &#x3b1;-phase.

Connecting rod bearing shell or bushing or main bearing shell

A crankshaft bearing shell in an internal combustion engine of a vehicle is made from a steel/aluminum composite material and is composed of a steel supporting layer and an aluminum plated sliding layer containing parts of tin and copper in the aluminum sliding layer, optionally comprising an intermediate layer consisting of pure aluminum. The aluminum sliding layer comprises A1Sn (20-23) Cu(1.8-2.3) alloy, optionally containing additions of up to 0.1 wt % of Ni, 0.7 wt % of Si, 0.7 wt % Fe, 0.7 wt % Mn, 0.2 wt % Ti, wherein the sum of Si, Fe and Mn is less than 1 wt %; and impurities form a total amount of less than 0.5 wt.- % with the aluminum sliding layer having a Brinell hardness of at least 45 HB 1/5/30 after heat treatment.

An assembled flange-bearing shell including a half-shell shaped radial bearing part and an axial bearing part which can be fixed on one side in the area of the axial front face of the radial bearing part, or partial ring-wheel shaped axial bearing parts which can be fixed on both sides. Each axial bearing part has inward projecting retaining tongues located around its radius. The retaining tongues can be engaged in retaining recesses in the area of an axial rim section of the radial bearing part. The flange-bearing shell has two retaining tongues on both sides of the vertex which form an undercut. The undercut is engaged from below by a clip of the radial bearing part which lies axially adjacent to each respective open-edged retaining recess. The clip is curved inward in an axial direction from its extension along the periphery into the retaining recess in order to secure the axial bearing part against detachment.

Assembled flange-bearing shell

The invention relates to a rolled-up plain bearing bush made from a metal/plastic composite plain bearing material whose wall has a thickness of at least 0.75 mm and which can be pressed into an opening of said bearing to form a medium-force fit. The inventive bearing bush also comprises a metal supporting layer and a sliding layer. In order to reduce weight and corrosion, the plain bearing bush is characterized in that the metal supporting layer is made of an aluminum alloy and the sliding layer consists of an expanded aluminum metal alloy section and a mixture of plastic sliding material that is applied to the expanded metal section and in the openings thereof in addition to optionally containing fillers that improve caloric conductibility and tribiological properties and the supporting layer is glued using an additional PFA-layer arranged therebetween.

Rolled-up plain bearing bush

The invention relates to a sliding bearing composite material with a hard metal support layer and a metallic sliding coating which is roll-bonded onto said support layer. The inventive sliding bearing composite is made of an aluminum alloy with tin comprising 10 to 20 percent by mass and with additions of copper and nickel. The sliding layer is in direct contact with the sliding mate. The sliding bearing composite material is thus improved with respect to the loading capacity and plasticity in that the aluminum alloy is comprised of tin, copper, nickel and remaining aluminum, the copper and nickel each have a percentage by mass of 0.2 to 2, and the ratio of percentage by mass of copper to the percentage by mass of nickel is between 0.6 and 1.5.
