Circuitry to control and monitor solid state power switches. The circuitry may be configured to measure the signal at a control terminal for the power switch to ensure the power switch is in the desired state, e.g., switched ON and conducting current or switched OFF and blocking current. In some examples the circuitry may also be configured to avoid a floating control terminal. The circuit of this disclosure may have at least two connections to the control terminal, e.g., to a gate terminal for a metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistor (MOSFET) or insulated gate bipolar junction transistor (IGBT). In this manner the circuit of this disclosure may ensure the entire signal chain to the control terminal is functioning properly.

Diagnosis with double gate

A method and an electronic circuit are disclosed. The method includes driving a transistor device in an on-state by applying a drive voltage higher than a threshold voltage of the transistor device to a drive input, and adjusting a voltage level of the drive voltage based on a load signal that represents a current level of a load current through the transistor device, wherein the current level is an actual current level or an expected current level of the load current.

Method and electronic circuit for driving a transistor device

A system includes a battery and a plurality of integrated circuits. The battery includes a plurality of battery cells. Each integrated circuit of the plurality of integrated circuits is coupled to a respective battery cell of the plurality of battery cells. Each integrated circuit includes at least one sensor configured to determine one or more operational characteristics of the battery cell coupled to the integrated circuit, and a transceiver configured to output a signal indicative of the one or more operational characteristics of the battery cell.

In one example, a method comprises alternately switching on a first switch connected in series with a capacitor and connected in parallel with a first capacitive element, and a second switch connected in series with the capacitor and connected in parallel with a second capacitive element. Aeries circuit with the first switch, the capacitor and the second switch may be coupled to supply nodes for receiving a supply voltage.

A battery cell having a first switching member switchable between a first position and a second position, wherein in the first position of the first switching member, a first electrode of the battery stack is being connected to a first terminal of the battery cell. In the second position of the first switching member the first electrode is being separated from the first terminal. The battery cell may further comprise a control unit in order to control a switching of the first switching member. Optionally there may be a second switching member providing a bypass between the second electrode and the first terminal, once the first terminal is being separated from the first electrode in response to a critical state of the battery cell.

A battery module and an arrangement including a number of battery modules connected in series are disclosed. An energy store has a positive and a negative connection. A boost converter has a first and a second converter output. The energy store is connected at the positive connection of the energy store to a first connection and at the negative connection of the energy store to a second connection. The first converter output is connected to a first compensation connection and the second converter output is connected to a second compensation connection. The converter is designed to draw energy from the energy store and to provide the energy to the converter outputs of the converter in the form of current.

A power supply system includes a first charge storage. A series circuit with a plurality of n charge storage modules is connected between load terminals. A second charge storage includes load terminals. A charge transfer arrangement includes at least one charge transfer unit coupled between one of the charge storage modules and the load terminals of the second charge storage. A method for controlling a current between an energy source and a load is disclosed. A switching module is coupled between the energy source and the load. The switching module includes two input terminals coupled to the energy source and two output terminals coupled to the load and at least one semiconductor switching element coupled between one of the input terminals and one of the output terminals. At least one current parameter of the current is measured between the energy source and the load. The current between the energy source and the load is interrupted by switching off the switching element when the at least one current parameter reaches or exceeds at least one predetermined parameter threshold value.

System and method for an overcurrent protection and interface circuit between an energy source and a load

A flyback converter includes input terminals and output terminals. A transformer with a first winding and a second winding are inductively coupled. A first switching element is connected in series with the first winding and a first series circuit with the first switching element, the first winding being coupled between the input terminals. A rectifier arrangement is connected in series with the second winding and a second series circuit with the rectifier arrangement, the second winding being coupled between the output terminals. The rectifier arrangement includes a second switching element. A control circuit is configured in one drive cycle to switch on the first switching element for a first time period. After the first time period the second switching element is switched on for a second time period. A third time period is determined between an end of the second time period and the time at which the transformer assumes a predetermined transformer state. The control circuit is further configured to adapt the second time period to be applied in a subsequent drive cycle dependent on the second time period applied in the one drive cycle and the third time period is determined in the one drive cycle.
