An audio apparatus and method employ a first renderer circuit, wherein the first renderer circuit is arranged to render audio elements by generating a first plurality of audio signals for a plurality of loudspeakers; and a second renderer circuit, wherein the second renderer circuit is arranged to render audio elements by generating a second plurality of audio signals for headphones. The audio apparatus and method perform an analysis of the first audio element to determine an audio property of the first audio element, and select between rendering of at least a first part of the first audio element via the plurality of loudspeakers and rendering of at least the first part of the first audio element via the headphones, based on a result of the analysis.

Audio apparatus and method of audio processing for rendering audio elements of an audio scene

An audio apparatus and method employ a first renderer circuit, wherein the first renderer circuit is arranged to render audio elements by generating a first set of audio signals for a set of loudspeakers; and a second renderer circuit, wherein the second renderer circuit is arranged to render audio elements by generating a second set of audio signals for headphones. The audio apparatus and method select between the first renderer circuit and the second renderer circuit such that the rendering of at least a first part of a first audio element is in response to a first audio rendering property indicator which is received in an audio signal. The first audio rendering property indicator is indicative of an audio format of the first audio element.

An apparatus for processing audiovisual data for a scene comprises a receiver () for receiving audiovisual data for the scene. The audiovisual data comprises audio data for the scene comprising a plurality of audio elements and image data for at least a first image of the scene where the first image has a first aspect ratio. An image remapper () performs a content dependent non-uniform mapping of the first image to a second image which has a different aspect ratio. The image remapper () is arranged to generate mapping data describing the content dependent non-uniform mapping. An audio remapper () replaces a first audio element of the plurality of audio elements by a second audio element generated by modifying a spatial property for the first audio element in response to the mapping data. The spatial property being modified may be a position and/or spatial spread of the first audio element.

Apparatus and method for processing audiovisual data

An audio processing apparatus comprises a receiver () which receives audio data including audio components and render configuration data including audio transducer position data for a set of audio transducers (). A renderer () generating audio transducer signals for the set of audio transducers from the audio data. The renderer () is capable of rendering audio components in accordance with a plurality of rendering modes. A render controller () selects the rendering modes for the renderer () from the plurality of rendering modes based on the audio transducer position data. The renderer () can employ different rendering modes for different subsets of the set of audio transducers the render controller () can independently select rendering modes for each of the different subsets of the set of audio transducers (). The render controller () can select the rendering mode for a first audio transducer of the set of audio transducers () in response to a position of the first audio transducer relative to a predetermined position for the audio transducer. The approach may provide improved adaptation, e.g. to scenarios where most speakers are at desired positions whereas a subset deviate from the desired position(s).

Audio processing apparatus and method therefor

An audio apparatus comprises a receiver () receiving data describing an audio scene. The data comprises audio data for a set of audio elements corresponding to audio sources in the scene and further includes metadata comprising at least an audio rendering property indicator for a first audio element of the set of audio elements. A first renderer () renders audio elements by generating a first set of audio signals for a set of loudspeakers and a second renderer () renders audio elements by generating a second set of audio signals for a headphone. Further, a selector () is arranged to select between the first renderer and the second renderer for rendering of at least a first part of the first audio element in response to the first audio rendering property indicator. The approach may for example provide improved virtual reality experiences using loudspeakers and headphone hybrid rendering.

An audio processing apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive audio data including audio components and render configuration data including audio transducer position data for a set of audio transducers. A renderer is configured to generate audio transducer signals for the set of audio transducers from the audio data, and to render audio components in accordance with rendering modes. A render controller is configured to select a rendering mode for the renderer based on the audio transducer position data. The renderer is configured to employ different rendering modes for different subsets of the set of audio transducers and the render controller is configured to independently select rendering modes for each of the different subsets of the set of audio transducer including selecting the rendering mode for a first audio transducer in response to a position of the first audio transducer relative to a predetermined position for the first audio transducer.

An audio signal processing apparatus includes a receiver which receives an audio signal including audio data for at least a first audio object associated with a three dimensional image. The audio signal also includes depth position data indicative of a target depth position for the first audio object. A determiner determines a visual rendering depth range for a target three dimensional display for presenting the three dimensional image, and a mapper for mapping the target depth position to a rendering depth position for the audio object where the mapping is dependent on the visual rendering depth range. The visual rendering depth range may specifically be a depth range in which the three dimensional display can accurately render objects, and the mapper may amend the positions of audio object sound sources such that these match the depth positions of corresponding visual objects presented by the three dimensional display.

Method and apparatus for processing an audio signal associated with a video image

A spatial audio processing apparatus comprises a receiver () for receiving audio scene data describing an audio scene comprising spatial audio components and associated position data. The audio components may be provided as audio objects. A distance unit () provides a position indication which includes a focus distance that is indicative of a distance from a reference position in the audio scene. An adapter () adapts a perceptual emphasis property, such as an audio level, frequency distribution, or degree of diffuseness, of a spatial audio component relative to at least one other spatial audio component of the audio scene in response to a difference measure reflecting a difference between the focus distance and a distance in the audio scene from the reference position to a position of the spatial audio component. An audio renderer () renders the resulting audio scene using the received position data. The approach may emphasize audio at the focus distance in the audio scene.

An apparatus for determining a room dimension estimate including a receiver providing an acoustic room response, a peak detector detects a set of peaks in the acoustic room response in a frequency interval having an upper frequency of no more than 400 Hz, a store includes a set of peak profiles with associated room dimension data, and an estimator determines the room dimension estimate from the associated room dimension data and a comparison of the set of peaks to the peak profiles. The estimator may perform the steps of first finding a matching peak profile for the set of peaks from the set of peak profiles; extracting first room dimension data associated with the matching peak profile(s) from the store; and determining the room dimension estimate in response to the first room dimension data. The peak profiles may represent calculated Eigenfrequencies.

A render controller is configured to adapt the rendering in response to the clustering. The apparatus is configured to select array processing techniques for specific subsets that contain audio transducers that are sufficiently close and allow automatic adaptation to audio transducer configurations thereby, e.g., allowing a user increased flexibility in positioning loudspeakers.

In particular the invention is related to a method for producing a personalized database of sounds and music tracks by filtering and combining personal and hospital databases of sounds which induces variations of the physiological state of a listener.

Personalized healing sounds database

A system for determining loudspeaker position estimates comprises motion sensors () and a movement processor () arranged to determine motion data for a user movable unit where the motion data characterizes movement of the user moveable unit. A user input interface () receives user inputs and a user processor () processes them into user activations which indicate that at least one of a current position and orientation of the user movable unit is associated with a loudspeaker position. An analyzing processor () then generates loudspeaker position estimates in response to the motion data and the user activations. The system thus performs speaker position estimations based on (i) the motion data of the user moveable unit being pointed towards or positioned on a speaker and (ii) the user activations.
