The invention relates to a method for printing a cylindrical printing surface of a beverage can with a printing image, and to a beverage can. The method comprises a first and a second printing operation, in the first printing operation, a first section of the printing surface being printed by way of a first printing process in a first printing press, in the second printing operation, a second section of the printing surface being printed by way of a second printing process which is preferably different from the first printing process in a second printing press, the beverage can being positioned before or during the second printing operation in such a way that the second section of the printing surface is oriented in a predefined position with respect to the first section of the printing surface. The beverage can is printed by way of this method, the first section and the second section of the printing surface being arranged in a predefined position with respect to one another.

The invention relates to a device for treating surfaces of objects with rounded cross sections and at least one partially electrically conductive outer wall, comprising a plurality of treating stations; and a feed device including support devices for supporting objects to be treated, wherein the feed device is configured to transport the objects supported by a respective support device in a timed sequence from one treating station to another treating station, wherein one of the treating stations is a test station and includes a voltage source, an electrode coupled with the voltage source and a processing unit, wherein the processing unit is configured to detect voltage changes between the electrode and a respective object disposed at the respective test station. Device and method for surface processing having a test station

There is proposed a clamping mandrel for a rotationally symmetrical hollow body in the form of a beverage can integrally comprising a body portion and a bottom. Accurate coupling and precise control of the movement of the mandrel is to be transmitted to the hollow body. For that purpose there are provided a plurality of clamping segments forming an outwardly facing cylindrical clamping surface for engaging an inside surface of the hollow body. The clamping segments are radially movably guided. A force-transmission device arranged in the interior of the clamping mandrel is provided for synchronous control of the radial movement of the clamping segments. That provides for controlled precision movement of a hollow body clamped by the clamping device.

A method for decorating an uneven surface of a dimensionally stable object is disclosed. According to the method, the object to be decorated and a digital, contactless printing head are moved in relation to one another during the printing operation and the printing head is controlled by a control unit in order to dispense ink. The method according to the invention comprises the following steps: a control program is created to control the printing head in accordance with the height profile of the uneven surface to be decorated of the object; the position of the surface to be decorated is detected in relation to the printing head; and the digital printing head is controlled using the program that has been created. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out the method.
