An x-ray tube has a rotating anode and a high-voltage plug for attachment at a high-voltage terminal at a vacuum housing of the x-ray tube. The high-voltage plug contains a cooling channel for coolant which opens up into a channel provided in the shaft of the rotating anode. The cooling channel extends through the high-voltage plug substantially in the direction of the center axis (axis of rotation) of the rotating anode.

Prior art methods calibrate the travel path and/or the angular position of holding devices in equipment for manufacturing electrical assemblies by optical measurements of the position of simulations of electrical components that are equipped on a calibration substrate. Markings on the simulations and local reference marks on the calibration substrate serve this purpose. Printed circuit board cameras that are utilized as optical sensors exhibit a pronounced camera distortion that makes the calibration more difficult. As a result of the method, the apparatus as well as the calibration substrate, a sensor correction factor is determined in that the position of two correction marks that are applied on the calibration substrate at a predetermined nominal spacing and a predetermined position relative to one another are measured with the printed circuit board camera. The result of the measurement is compared to the nominal spacing.

Method and apparatus for calibrating a travel path and/or an angular

An x-ray tube, in addition to an anode and a cathode arrangement, has first and second electrodes that are located in an evacuated housing provided with a beam exit window. The anode and the first electrode are at potentials that are positive in comparison to the potentials of the cathode arrangement and the second electrode. Further, the first and the second electrode are arranged lying opposite one another such that secondary electrons emanating from the anode must pass through the space located between the first and the second electrode in order to proceed to the beam exit window. These secondary electrons are thus substantially all prevented from reaching the beam exit window, thereby avoiding excessive heating of the beam exit window.

A method for applying a transparent, conductive indium-tin oxide coating on a substrate of amorphous, hydrogen-containing silicon wherein an unheated substrate of amorphous hydrogen-containing silicon is treated with sources of indium and tin in a first stage while maintaining a low partial pressure of oxygen until a partial coating is built-up, then reducing the oxygen partial pressure in the coating zone in a second stage and continuing the coating until an additional coating thickness is built-up, followed by heating the coated substrate in an oxygen-containing atmosphere at a temperature less than 250.degree. C.

Method for manufacturing transparent conductive indium-tin oxide layers

A circuit for unilaterally scanning teletype characters wherein the characters are supplied to an integrating circuit and to an impulse circuit wherein the impulse circuit can be controlled by the step changes of a character. A comparator circuit receives the output of the integration circuit and assumes a definite condition with each step change through a switch which is controlled by the impulses of the impulse circuit and a reference signal is supplied to the comparator circuit and the reference signal can be adjusted according to the desired delay of the descending or ascending edge of the step changes in the characters.

Circuit arrangement for unilaterally scanning distorted teletype

A liquid crystal cell having a chamber for receiving a layer of liquid crystal material which chamber is defined by a pair of plate members joined together adjacent their edges by a substantially continuous glass solder seal characterized by the glass solder seal being provided in the form of one or more glass fibers which are interposed between the plates and fused to form the glass solder seal. To facilitate positioning the one or more glass solder fibers, positioning means are provided on one surface of one of the plates and may be protruberances which are formed either by crystallizing glass solder, or by laser bombardment of the one surface. To facilitate the obtaining of the desired spacing between the plates, each of the glass fibers may have a core which may be either hard glass or a metal such as gold which core is surrounded by a lower melting glass so that during fusion of the fiber, the core remains substantially unmelted. In another embodiment, the glass fibers contain a material, such as being impregnated with CuO, which will absorb infrared radiation so that during the method of forming the cell, the step of heating to fuse the fibers includes subjecting the fibers to infrared radiation after preheating the assembled plates and fibers.
