A coated substrate is described including a substrate material, which is coated at least in part with an oxidation-resistant coating, wherein the coating consists of a wear-resistant abrasive coating layer, which contains or consists of coated abrasive particles embedded in an oxidation-resistant matrix material, wherein at least some of the abrasive particles consist of &#x3b1;-AlOand the abrasive particles are coated with a first particle coating layer disposed on the abrasive particles and an optional second particle coating layer disposed on the first particle coating layer, wherein the matrix material contains or consists of the compound MCrAlY, wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Ni, Co and Fe. A method for manufacturing such a coated substrate is also disclosed.

Abrasive coated substrate and method for manufacturing thereof

The invention relates to a method for welding rotors for power generation having a plurality of rotor discs arranged along a rotor axis. The method includes providing forged and NDT tested rotor discs and machining the discs for weld seam preparation. The weld seam preparation has an inner narrow TIG welding gap and an adjoining outer SAW welding gap. The method further includes stapling the discs on top of each other; and checking the run-out of the stapled discs relative to each other and as a whole and, if necessary, adjusting the staple. In addition the method includes melting the root of the weld without weld filler using TIG welding; increasing the weld height by narrow gap TIG welding with parent metal weld filler to allow tilting of the rotor in horizontal position; tilting the rotor in horizontal position; finalizing the welding by filling the outer SAW welding gap using SAW welding; and checking the welds of the rotor by NDT using ultrasonic testing. A weld seam preparation machining step that includes preparing an optimized transition geometry of TIG welding gap to SAW welding gap transition with a first opening having a first opening angle and a second opening having a second opening angle greater than said first opening angle.

Method for welding rotors for power generation

The invention relates to a method for welding rotors for power generation such as gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators having a plurality of rotor discs arranged along a rotor axis. The method includes providing said discs with a weld seam preparation. The weld seam preparation includes a root, a first, gap-like welding section adjoining the root in radial direction, and a second, gap-like welding section adjoining the first welding section in radial direction. The method further includes melting the root by means of a first welding process; making a weld in the first welding section by means of a second welding process; and filling up the second welding section by means of a third welding process.

A pressure casing has a plurality of casing shells () which can be connected in a pressure-tight manner in a parting plane () by a flange (). The casing shells () are pressed together with sealing effect in the parting plane () in the region of the flange () by at least one threaded bolt (-) which extends through the flange () perpendicularly to the parting plane (). A reduced thermal loading of the threaded bolts (-) of the flanged joint is achieved by the at least one threaded bolt (-) being exposed over a part of its length towards the inner side of the casing ().

Pressurized casing

In a method for joining two, in particular rotationally symmetrical, metal parts () by a tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding process, in a first step, the two metal parts () to be joined are initially positioned relative to one another by a centering offset () in such a way that a narrow gap () is formed between them and a relief region () is created in the seam-bottom area. In a second step, the flanks () of the metal parts (), which delimit the narrow gap (), are joined together by welding beads () which fill the narrow gap (), with a predetermined melt-through point () being formed. High-quality automatic welding is achieved in that the narrow gap () has a continuously constant width (a), in that the width (a) of the narrow gap () is selected such that the welding beads () lying one above the other each extend over the entire width (a) of the narrow gap (), and in that the entire narrow gap () is filled with the welding beads () in fully automatic fashion.

A method for influencing and monitoring the oxide layer on metallic components of hot CO/HO cycle systems, in particular of CO/HO gas turbine installations, in which a hydrocarbon-containing fuel is burnt with oxygen, and the excess COand HO formed is removed from the cycle system at a suitable location. To protect the oxide layer of the components which are under thermal load, an excess of oxygen is used, the level of which is dependent on the current state of the oxide layer, the state of the oxide layer being determined by periodic and/or continuous measurements.

Throughflow openings are provided for a cooling medium in a coolable component. The throughflow opening comprises an insert that reduces the size of the first opening cross-section to a second opening cross-section, and that is released from the first opening if the second opening cross-section becomes blocked as a result of a local temperature rise and a thermally unstable joining between the insert and the component, being mounted in a first opening. The present throughflow opening greatly reduces the risk of damage to components to be cooled, in particular turbine blades, as a result of fine throughflow openings becoming blocked.
