A web-tension-measuring device has two plates, which can be rotated relative to one another about an axis of rotation, to be precise such that the one free end of the one plate can be moved towards, or away from, the corresponding, opposite free end of the other plate. A force transducer is arranged in the region of the free ends of the two plates and outside the axis of rotation. The force transducer is configured, during movement of the free ends of the two plates towards one another, to detect a corresponding compressive loading arising from the movement and, during the movement of the free ends away from one another, to detect a corresponding tensile loading between the two plates.

An apparatus for the production of a fibrous web, especially a tissue or hygienic web, the fibrous web runs through a press nip which is formed by a press unit and a backing roll and the web is subsequently run through a creping nip which is formed by the backing roll and a creping roll around which a textured belt is looped. Moreover, the creping roll is equipped with its own drive. The creping roll can be pressed against the backing roll through a pivoted lever whose pivoting axis which is parallel with the axes of the creping roll and is positioned such that the connecting line between the pivoting axis and the creping roll axis forms an angle of approximately 90&#xb0; with the connecting line between the creping roll axis and the backing roll axis, when viewed in a vertical plane relative to these axes.

Machine to produce a fibrous web

Apparatus for winding a material web includes one of a spool and a reel. A carrier drum forms a winding nip with the spool or the reel. The material web is guided over the carrier drum. Primary arms guide the spool or the reel when the spool or the reel is in a primary winding phase. Pressing levers are arranged on the primary arms. The pressing levers are structured and arranged to press the spool or the reel onto the carrier drum. Secondary arms are structured and arranged to press the spool or the reel onto the carrier drum when the spool or the reel is in a secondary winding phase. The carrier drum is mounted axially between the primary arms. Method and apparatus for winding a material web

Process and apparatus for threading a material web onto a reel. The process includes guiding a beginning of the material web to be wound around the drum, directing blower air to keep the material web away from the reel, supplying the material web to a preparation station, and threading the reel with the material web. Winding machine and process for winding a material web, in particular a paper or cardboard web, onto a reel. The material web is guided by a carrying drum that can be supplied with suction, and a nip is formed between the carrying drum and the reel. The carrying drum, which has a perforated casing and/or is provided with circumferential grooves, is supplied with suction by way of at least one external suction box. The suction box is disposed with at least one suction opening opposite the circumference region of the carrying drum that is not wrapped by the material web. The suction box has at least one sealing element that cooperates with the carrying drum in the vicinity of the suction opening.

Winding device and process for winding a web material

Method for winding a material web onto a reel in an apparatus that includes a rotatable feed roll, a carrying drum, a discharge roll and a pulper. Winding device for winding a material web onto a reel, said winding device including: a feed roll, a carrying drum, and a support belt which is adapted to guide the material web over the feed roll and the carrying drum. An external vacuum device is positioned adjacent a circumferential surface of the carrying drum which is not contacted by the support belt and the material web and a winding nip is formed between the carrying drum and the reel. A discharge roll is provided for guiding the support belt, and the discharge roll is located in the vicinity of a pulper, downstream from the carrying drum, relative to a web run direction. The discharge roll is also adapted to divert at least a portion of the material web to the pulper before feeding the material web to the reel. The carrying drum may include at least one of circumferential ridges and perforations, and the support belt is one of a perforated and an air permeable belt. Preferably, the carrying drum includes a perforated jacket.

Winding device and method for winding web material

Twin-wire former for producing a fibrous material web from a fibrous suspension and process for separating upper and lower wires of the twin-wire former. The twin-wire former includes a twin-wire zone composed of a lower wire and an upper wire and a plurality of rolls including an inlet roll and an outlet roll. The upper wire is guidable over the plurality of rolls, the inlet roll guides the upper wire to the twin-wire zone, and the outlet roll guides the upper wire toward the inlet roll. A wedge-shaped inlet zone is formed between the upper wire and the lower wire and has an adjustable inlet wedge angle. An upper wire subassembly includes a drainage box adapted to receive suspension water that flows upwardly through the upper wire, and further includes a pivotable common support device, to which the drainage box and the inlet roll are mounted. A stroke device is coupled to the pivotable common support device to lift the pivotable common support device around a first horizontal axle. In this manner, the inlet wedge angle is varied during former operation. After a maximal inlet wedge angle is formed, continued lifting of the pivotable common support device by the stroke device causes the upper wire subassembly to lift up from the lower wire, thereby separating the upper wire from the lower wire. A second horizontal pivot axle associated with the upper wire subassembly and located in a region of the outlet roll is provided. The separating of the upper and lower wires occurs around the second horizontal pivot axle. The process includes lifting the common support device with the stroke device, such that the common support device is pivotably supported by the first horizontal axle and the inlet wedge angle is increased, and, upon maximally increasing the inlet wedge angle, further lifting the common support device with the stroke device, such that the common support device is pivotably supported by the second horizontal axle and is disengaged from the first horizontal axle. In this manner, the upper wire is lifted up from the lower wire.

A shoe press, in particular for a paper machine, comprising a pair of rolls, with one roll having a flexible roll sleeve that rotates around a stationary carrier and support devices, the flexible roll sleeve having axial end areas and being mounted on a carrier in a radially rotatable manner at each of its axial end areas over the support devices, each roll having a shoe with a flat support surface, the support surface of the shoe of one roll supporting an interior side of the roll sleeve, the support surfaces being arranged essentially parallel to each other to create a press opening therebetween, and at least one of the support devices being radially flexible, and in particular elastic.

Press device to treat a fibrous pulp web that may include a shoe press roll and a mating roll. The shoe press roll and the mating roll may be positioned to form a press nip, and at least one endless belt guided through the press nip and forming a substantially non-flexible and rigid drive element at least partially driving the press device.

The invention is directed to a dryer section for an apparatus to produce webs of material, such as paper, carton or cardboard which shall consist of a number drying cylinders and carrier rollers, at least one dryer group which shall include at least one conveyer bend to direct the continuous material web along a meandering path around these drying cylinders and carrier rollers, and with at least one pressure cylinder to compress or smoothen the web of material. The pressure cylinder is located within the dryer group 3, 30 or 130, respectively, such that it is located within a region that is contained within the second and the second-to-last dryer cylinder of the dryer group.

A three row drying cylinder group for a drying section of a paper machine or the like. The bottom cylinder row felt only passes through the bottom row. The top cylinder row felt passes from the top row, wraps the first middle row cylinder as a deflection element, passes over the next top row cylinder, and then is guided so that the opposite side of the top felt passes the next middle row cylinder and is guided back to the top row to alternate between the two ways of passing the middle row cylinders. Those middle row cylinders which are deflection elements may be heated or not and may deliver suction or vacuum to hold the web to the felt.

A drying section of a paper machine includes a plurality of individual drying groups, wherein the drying cylinders of a drying group are served by 2 respective dryer wire or felt that passes over drying cylinders of the drying group and presses a web to be dried against the surface of the drying cylinders. The invention is adapted for either single tier or double tier drying groups. At least one press roll is disposed between and separates two of the drying groups. In one embodiment, the at least one press roll forms a nip with the adjacent drying cylinder, either upstream or downstream, to define a dewatering nip through which the web passes. A dewatering belt passes over the press roll in the nip. The wire for a respective drying group is guided away from the dewatering nip so that only the web and the dewatering belt pass through the press nip. In alternate embodiments, two press rolls may be disposed between the adjacent drying groups, and the two press rolls define a press nip between them. A respective dewatering belt passes over each of the press rolls. One of those press rolls may also be in contact with and define a press nip with the adjacent drying cylinder in the adjacent drying group. An open draw free path may be defined between one of the press rolls and the adjacent drying cylinder.

A drying section of a papermaking machine includes several drying groups with at least one drying screen each. At the end of one drying group and/or at the beginning of the next following drying group, a finishing roller is utilized. A finishing nip is formed between one of two finishing rollers and a finishing roller and a drying cylinder of an adjacent drying group. Only the paper web is conveyed through the finishing nip.

Drying section. A drying section of a papermaking machine, is comprised of several drying groups, wherein the last drying cylinder of one drying group is arranged a short distance from the first drying cylinder of the following drying group and wherein the paper web extends directly from the last drying cylinder to the first drying cylinder, thereby permitting quick transfer of the paper web, between the drying groups.
