The invention relates to a differential assembly in the form of a crown gear differential, more particularly for being used in the driveline of a motor vehicle. The differential assembly comprises a differential carrier () which is rotatingly drivable around an axis of rotation A; two sideshaft gears () having crown gear teeth, which are rotatably held in the differential carrier () on the axis of rotation A and each comprise a circumferential supporting face (); differential gears () with spur gear teeth, which rotate jointly with the differential carrier () around the axis of rotation A and which engage the teeth of the sideshaft gears () and each comprise a circumferential contact face (); wherein the differential gears () are supported by means of their contact faces () against the supporting faces () of the sideshaft gears () towards the axis or rotation A.

Differential assembly with centered differential gears

The invention relates to a differential assembly in the form of a crown gear differential, more particularly for being used in the driveline of a motor vehicle. The differential assembly comprises a differential carrier () which is produced in one piece, which is rotatingly drivable around an axis of rotation A and which, in a casing portion (), comprises two radial openings for mounting sideshaft gears () and differential gears (). Per opening (), there is provided a bearing disc () which is inserted into said opening () and which comprises a central bore () in which there is held a journal end () of a bearing journal () for a differential gear ().

Differential assembly with bearing discs in openings for mounting purposes

A differential assembly is described, in the form of a crown differential for use in a driveline of a motor vehicle. The differential assembly comprises a one-piece differential carrier which is rotatably drivable around an axis of rotation and, in a casing portion, comprises no more than two identical openings for mounting sideshaft gears rotatably held in the differential carrier on the axis of rotation, as well as differential gears, which rotate jointly with the differential carrier around the axis of rotation and engage the teeth of the sideshaft gears. With reference to a longitudinal central plane, the openings are arranged so as to be mirror-symmetrical and comprise an axial length corresponding at least to the diameter of the differential gears, and a greatest circumferential extension which, in a radial view, corresponds at least to the diameter of the sideshaft gears.

Differential assembly with assembly openings

A differential assembly includes a differential carrier () with a first carrier part () with a free first annular face () and a second carrier part () connectable to the first carrier part () and having a free second annular face (), and a plurality of circumferentially distributed recesses () formed between the two carrier parts (); per carrier part (), a sideshaft gear () is rotatably supported therein; and a supporting element () with journals () is held in the differential carrier (). Each of the journals engages one of the recesses () of the differential carrier () and carries a differential gear () for driving the sideshaft gears (). A constant velocity fixed joint having an outer and inner joint part forming pairs of ball tracks, wherein the track base lines of the pairs of tracks each form an opening angle relative to one another. The track base lines of the outer ball tracks, at the attaching part end, form a radius whose center is positioned beyond a first longitudinal axis and is offset by a first offset from the central plane of the outer joint part towards the attaching part. The track base lines of the inner ball tracks, at the aperture end, comprise a radius whose center is positioned beyond the second longitudinal axis and is offset by a second offset from the central plane of the inner joint part towards the aperture.

A differential assembly () for being rotatably supported around a longitudinal axis (A) and for being rotatingly driven inside a housing, comprising a differential carrier () which comprises a base () at its first end and an aperture () at its second end; two sideshaft gears () arranged coaxially relative to the longitudinal axis (A), as well as a plurality of a differential gears () in the differential carrier, each engaging the two sideshaft gears; an outer bearing seat () at the first end of the differential carrier () for sliding on a first rolling contact bearing () and an inner bearing seat () at the second end of the differential carrier () for inserting a second rolling contact bearing ().

Compact differential assembly

A constant velocity fixed joint having an outer and inner joint part forming pairs of ball tracks, wherein the track base lines of the pairs of tracks each form an opening angle relative to one another. The track base lines of the outer ball tracks, at the attaching part end, form a radius whose center is positioned on a first longitudinal axis and is offset by a first offset from the central plane of the outer joint part towards the attaching part. The track base lines of the inner ball tracks, at the aperture end, comprise a radius whose center is positioned on the second longitudinal axis and is offset by a second offset from the central plane of the inner joint part towards the aperture.

A differential drive having a drivable differential carrier () which is rotatably supported in a drive housing, which comprises a longitudinal carrier axis, in which two axle shaft gears () whose axes extend co-axially relative to the longitudinal carrier axis are arranged and rotatably supported and in which a plurality of differential gears () whose axes extend radially relative to the longitudinal carrier axis are arranged and held so as to rotate with said differential carrier (,) wherein the axle shaft gears () engage the differential gears (;) and having constant velocity joints () which are positioned inside the differential carrier () and whose outer joint parts () are connected to the axle shaft gears () in a rotationally fast way, wherein the outer joint parts () and the axle shaft gears () connected to the outer joint parts () are positioned in the differential carrier () with radial play and are operationally engaged with at least three differential gears () for being self-centered on the longitudinal carrier axis.

Differential having integrated homocinetic joints

A constant velocity ball joint in the form of a counter track joint, has an outer joint part, an inner joint part, and torque transmitting balls received in pairs of tracks formed of outer tracks and inner tracks, and a ball cage. First pairs of tracks whose first control angles open in a first axial direction hold first balls. Second pairs of track whose control angles open in a second axial direction hold second balls. The control angles are defined as angles between the tangents at the ball contact points in the pairs of tracks. The outer joint part and the inner joint part are axially displaceable relative to one another. The first control angle and the second control angle change in opposite senses when a relative axial displacement occurs. The axial displacement path is limited to observing a minimum value of least 8&#xb0; for the respective smaller control angle.

Constant velocity ball joint as a counter track joint

A differential drive having a drive housing in which a differential carrier () is rotatably supported around its longitudinal axis (A). The drive has sideshaft gears () which are supported so as to be rotatable relative to the differential carrier () around the axis (A), and differential gears () which are supported in the differential carrier rotatably around axes (R) extending radially relative to the longitudinal axis (A), which engage the sideshaft gears () and which rotate together with the differential carrier ().
