5H-furan-2-one derivatives stabilization of organic material

Disclosed is a novel method for achieving an antimicrobial, preservative and/or microorganism adhesion inhibiting effect, for the protection within an article and/or material or on the surface of an article and/or material. The novel method comprises application of a salicylic compound of the formula (I) wherein one of A and A is a residue of the formula (I'): &#x2014;NH&#x2014;CO&#x2014;Rwhile the other is hydrogen; Ris C-Calkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl interrupted by O and/or NR, C-Caryl, C-Carylalkyl; Ris ORor NHR; Rand Rare selected from H, C-Calkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl, C-Ccycloalkyl interrupted by O and/or NR, C-Caryl, C-Carylalkyl; Ris H or C-Calkyl; wherein each aryl moiety is unsubstituted or substituted by C-Calkyl, C-Calkoxy, C-Cacyl, C-Cacyloxy, C-Cacylamino, CF, OH, amino, halogen; or an adduct or salt thereof; to said article and/or material.

Use of substitute 2,4-bis (alkylamino) pyrimidines or quinzolines as antimicrobials

Disclosed are 3-aryl-2-cyano-3-hydroxy-acrylic acid derivates of formula(1a) (1b) or (1c) wherein Ris hydrogen, C-Calkyl; C-Calkoxy; CF; C-Caryl; or a radical of formula (1a) and Ris hydrogen; or C-Calkyl. The compounds are used as antimicrobial actives for the treatment of surfaces. 

3-aryl-2-cyano-3-hydroxy-acrylic acid derivatives

Triazine derivatives of formula (1) wherein Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl; C&#x2013;Ccycloalkyl; or C&#x2013;Cperfluoroalkyl; Ris hydrogen; C&#x2013;Calkyl; or C&#x2013;Ccycloalkyl; and Ris hydrogen; C&#x2013;Calkyl; C&#x2013;Ccycloalky; C&#x2013;Cperfluoroalky; CCalkyl-carbonyl; C&#x2013;Ccycloalkyl-carbonyl; C&#x2013;Cperfluoroalkyl-carbonyl; or phenylcarbonyl; are described. The compounds exhibit pronounced action against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and also against yeasts and moulds. They are also suitable for treating or preventing biofilms on human tooth surfaces and oral mucosa
