The invention relates to an impact-modified molding composition, especially impact-modified PMMA, having an improved profile of properties, especially also at elevated temperatures, to molded articles obtainable therefrom and to the use of the molding composition and the molded article.

The invention relates to a molding composition modified for impact resistance, in particular to impact-resistant PMMA with improved optical properties at elevated temperatures, to molded items obtainable therefrom, and also to the use of the molding composition and of the molded items.

PMMA provided with impact resistance and having improved optical properties

Provided is an adhesive composition suitable for producing a laminate. The composition contains specified amounts of (a) polyisobutyl methacrylate, isobutyl methacrylate or a mixture thereof, (b) butyl acrylate, (c) polybutyl acrylate, (d) a (meth)acrylate compound and (e) a silicon compound. These components may be in polymerizable form, in polymerized form or in a combination of polymerizable form and polymerized form. The amounts of components (a) to (e) total 100 wt. % and the amount of (b) and (c) represents 30 to 90 wt. %, based on the sum total of components (a) to (e). The composition may optionally further contain from 0.1 to 6 wt. %, based on the total weight of the adhesive composition, of additives different from components (a) to (e) described above.

A reactive mixture for coating moldings by reaction injection molding includes at least 40% by weight of (meth)acrylates having at least two double bonds. The reactive mixture also includes at least one photoinitiator and at least one thermal initiator. Furthermore, a coated molding includes a molding obtainable by injection molding processes. The molding includes polymethyl methacrylate, polymethylmethacrylimide, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, styrene-maleic acid copolymer, polymethyl methacrylate copolymer, or a combination thereof. A coating is obtainable by polymerization of (meth)acrylates having at least two double bonds, the coating having an adhesive strength rating of not more than 1 according to the cross hatch test and a decrease in gloss at 20&#xb0; after a scratch resistance test according to ASTM 1044 (12/05) (applied weight 500 g, number of cycles=100) of not more than 10%.

Reactive mixture for coating molded objects by means of reaction injection molding and coated molded object

A molding compound comprises a copolymer (I)a), produced by polymerization of 90-100% by weight methylmethacrylate, styrene and malic acid anhydride, and optionally 0-10% by weight additional monomers which can be copolymerized with methylmethacrylate, a (co)polymer (II)b), produced by polymerization of 80-100% by weight methylmethacrylate and optionally 0-20% by weight additional monomers which can be copolymerized with methylmethacrylate, and has a solution viscosity in chloroform at 25&#xb0; C. (ISO 1628 Part 6) of 50 to 55 ml/g, as well as c) optional conventional additives, auxiliary agents and/or fillers. The molding compound is characterized in that the copolymer (I) has a solution viscosity in chloroform at 25&#xb0; C. (ISO 1628 Part) of 55 ml/g or less. Also disclosed are moldings produced by thermoplastic processing of the molding compound and their uses.

Moulding compound for mouldings with high weather resistance

The present invention relates to a plastics molding composition encompassing at least one poly(meth)acrylate A) and at least one impact-modified poly(meth)acrylate B), wherein the die swell of the plastics molding composition is at least 15%, measured at 5 MPa and 2200C to DIN 54811 (1984), and the melt flow rate of the poly(meth)acrylate A) is at least 10 ml per 10 minutes, measured to ISO 1133 at 2300C with a load of 3.8 kg. The present invention also describes moldings which encompass the plastics molding composition described above, and processes for the production of the said moldings.

The invention relates to an injection molding method for the production of a complex, high optical quality light-diffusing molded item. The molding material used comprises a matrix made of polymethyl(meth)acrylate and spherical plastic particles whose particle size ranges from 1-24 &#x3bc;m and the concentration thereof ranges from 0.05-30 wt.-% in relation to the weight of the polymethyl(meth)acrylate. The spherical particles exhibit a refractive index differential in relation to the polymethyl(meth)acrylate matrix of 0.01 0.2.

The invention relates to the use of polyalkyl(meth)acrylate bead polymers with an average particle size Vthat ranges between 30 and 70 &#x3bc;m for improving the stress cracking resistance of moulding materials containing polyalkyl(meth)acrylate. The invention also relates to moulding materials comprising: a) at least 50 wt. % of an impact resistance modifying agent, which contains at least one polyalkyl(meth)acrylate phase; b) at least 8 wt. % of a polyalkyl(meth)acrylate bead polymer with an average particle size Vthat ranges between 30 and 70 &#x3bc;m; and c) between 0 and 42 wt. % of a polyalkyl(meth)acrylate with a molecular weight ranging between 20,000 and 350,000 g/mol, whereby the wt. % of the components a) to c) amounts to 100 wt. %, and to moulded bodies that can be obtained from said materials.

(ISO 1628 part 6) greater than 55 ml/g. The molded bodies that can be obtained from the composition are characterized in particular by improved stress cracking resistance and are suitable in particular for use in coatings, paints or films.
