The invention relates to test strips for the detection of substances present in liquids and comprises a firm support and matrices impregnated with reagents. The matrices are spaced from one another on the support by means of adhesive strips, and the adhesive strips are covered with strips of film.

Test strips

A container intended for transporting and discharging aggressive liquids, such as silicon tetrachloride, is closed with a container lid which carries a valve head. The inner surfaces of the container and of the container lid are lined with fluorinated hydrocarbon. The valve head has a valve block which, in valve block drilled holes accommodates valve inserts and is enclosed by a steel jacket which is bolted to the container lid. All the parts which come into contact with the aggressive liquid consist of fluorinated hydrocarbon, so that contact between the aggressive liquid and metal is avoided.

Columns for high-pressure liquid chromatography utilize a tube which can be filled with a sorbent. The tube has an inlet device and an outlet device at the ends thereof and includes supporting elements therein to stabilize the sorbent packing.

Chromatography column and process for packing same

The device is a clamping and sealing apparatus for use with separation columns, i.e., chromatographic columns. Sealing elements having sealing means extending therefrom are provided at each end of a column with at least one being movable in an axial direction and controlled by pressure generating means. The sealing members are shaped corresponding to the ends of the column to fit flush against the column and to provide a seal when actuated by the pressure generating means.

Column clamping device for chromatography

A separation column for liquid chromatography is adjustably sealed for reducing dead space therein. The separation column is packed and an elastic diaphragm seals one end. There is spherically shaped inert material located between the packing and the elastic diaphragm with a porous frit located between the inert material and the diaphragm. A piston exerts a force on the diaphragm to stretch it longitudinally into the column thereby reducing the dead space. The frit and inert material operate to uniformly distribute the force exerted by the piston.

Separation column for liquid chromatography and sealing arrangement

A chromatography column adapted for high pressure chromatography is characterized by a tubular membrane separating a glass tube from the pressurized area between the glass tube and a pressure tube adapted to receive a pressurizing fluid. Changing of the glass tube is facilitated by annular seals at each end of the glass tube against which an adjustable threaded plug, fitted in one of a pair of screw caps fitted on each end of the pressure tube, exerts sealing pressure.
