The present disclosure relates to a packing element, in particular for mass and/or heat exchange columns, through which at least one gas and/or at least one liquid flow flows, comprising a plurality of neighbouring strips curved inwards and/or outwards, wherein each strip is connected to the neighbouring strips at at least one end thereof. It is the object of the present invention to provide a packing element that is improved relative to the state of the art. According to the disclosure, this object is achieved in that at least one of the strips has an irregular shape.

A process-technology column including a novel liquid distributor which is to be as insensitive as possible to dirt or solids carried in the liquid and which can be operated over a load range as great as possible without the possibility of the delivered liquid being excessively easily entrained by the gas flow which rises in the column is provided. The liquid distributor includes a liquid feed for conducting a liquid and at least 2 nozzles connected thereto for producing a respective liquid jet. The nozzles are flat-jet nozzles for producing a respective flat jet. The flat-jet nozzles are so oriented that the flat jet produced by them impinges on a drain element which is arranged at the liquid distributor and at which the liquid of the flat jet can drain away.

Liquid distributor of a process-technology column

A low-load distributor is disclosed for mass transfer columns for applying liquid onto the surface of packing stages of the mass transfer columns with at least one liquid supply, a plurality of liquid dispensing points and dwell time delay devices disposed between the liquid supply and the liquid dispensing points. An exemplery low-load distributor can be easily manufactured for a very low liquid flow rate and is characterized by high operation reliability. A dwell time delay devices can include absorbent open-pored storage material and the flow resistance of the storage material can increase in the liquid flow direction, starting from the liquid supply in the direction towards the liquid dispensing points.

A corrugated packing grid with consecutively arranged wave crests and wave troughs for a structured packing, which is assembled from several packing grids, for gas-liquid contacting apparatuses, and a packing assembled from the packing grids. The packing grid and the packing have a large mass transfer area and a low pressure drop at the same time and offer a high mechanical strength. This can be achieved in that elements lie in the region of the wave troughs of the packing grid, the elements extending into the wave troughs.

The present invention relates to a distributor for distributing a liquid in an exchange column. The distributor comprises at least one predistributor means positioned to receive a liquid feed and a plurality of distributor means having substantially straight longitudinal side walls and open top portions. The interior and exterior of the longitudinal side walls of the predistributor means are covered with a wettable, open-pore material. In operation the liquid feed flows from the predistributor means into the interior of the distributor means, through the open-pore material, exiting this open-pore material on the exterior of the distributor means. In this manner an improved, even distribution of the liquid feed within the exchange column is obtained.
