A device for winding webs of fabric into a lap, arranged on a lap rod, with a machine frame, a lap carrier which can move to and from with respect to the machine frame between a winding position and an unloading position and is provided with receiving mechanism for the two ends of the lap rod, which have positioning guides which position the lap rod in the winding position of the lap carrier in a winding rotational position, and with securing elements which secure the lap rod, in the winding position of the lap carrier, against any movement out the positioning guides.

A knitting machine comprises a needle cylinder, stitch-forming knitting needles, displaceable selector elements for initiating specific knitting operations, springs which bias the selector elements into a first position, mechanical control means which transfer the selector elements into a second position contrary to their biasing and electromagnetic selector means which comprise at least one activatable magnetic pole for holding the selector elements in their second position. The displaceable selector elements have a stop edge which cooperates in the second position with a counterstop edge stationary relative to the movement of the selector element. When the stop edge engages on the counterstop edge, the selector elements are located at such a small distance from the electromagnetic selector means, hereby forming an air gap, that their magnetic force is still sufficient to hold the selector elements in their second position.

Knitting machine

A device for the removal of tubular fabric from a circular knitting machine comprises a machine frame, a driven take-up roller around which the tubular fabric is partially wound, a winding rod for winding the tubular fabric and two bearings at the ends of the winding rod. The bearings of the winding rod are arranged in levers which are pivotally mounted on the machine frame for pivoting from an operating position to a removal position. In the operating position, the winding rod can be locked in position by wedge-shaped locking elements. In the removal position, the winding rod can be removed from the machine frame simply and easily.

A circular knitting machine having knitting needles actuated by pattern bars, electromagnetic selectors for adjusting the knitting needles into various operating positions, mechanical controls cooperating with the electromagnetic selectors, selector elements biased by springs and slidingly displaceable in the pattern bars as well as first and second control cams for pivoting the pattern bars. Only one single, spring-biased selector element is mounted for displacement in each pattern bar. The electromagnetic selectors have individually controllable magnetic poles which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of rotation of the needle cylinder.

A circular knitting machine has a needle cylinder, a supporting disk attached to the needle cylinder coaxially therewith, a bearing body for the supporting disk surrounding the supporting disk, four bearing tracks arranged opposite one another in pairs on the supporting disk and on the bearing body, and bearing balls supported on the bearing tracks. Two elastic supporting flanges, each having one bearing track of two axially adjacent bearing tracks formed thereon, are provided to compensate radial expansions.

Circular knitting machine

On a stitch-forming machine having knitting needles, knocking-over sinkers and controlling sinkers, in addition to their mutual articulated connection, the knocking-over and controlling sinkers are also connected to each other for mutual longitudinal displacement. Contiguous sliding surfaces are provided on the sinkers so as to slide on one another and bring about tilting motion of the knocking-over sinkers during mutual longitudinal displacement of the sinkers. Return parts are also provided for returning the tilted knocking-over sinkers to their initial position.

Stitch-forming knitting machine

A knitting machine with stitch-forming knitting needles which are actuated by pattern bars and which are adjustable in accordance with the three-way technique to three operating positions, i.e., the knitting, floating and tucking positions, comprises electromagnetic selector means which are controlled in accordance with a pattern to adjust the knitting needles to their operating positions and also eccentric steering means which cooperate with these selector means. Arranged in each pattern bar are two displaceable selector elements which are biased by a spring and which are adjustable by cooperation of the electromagnetic selector means and the spring so as to be brought in accordance with a pattern or combination into the path of steering cam means trigger displacement of the selector elements and hence pivotal motion of the pattern bar in accordance with the desired operating position.

A stitch-forming machine which has needles guided on a needle support for displacement in the longitudinal direction and controlled by needle cams and also has holding-down and knocking-over sinkers which are adapted for displacement between the needles in the region of their heads and are moved by sinker cams in the longitudinal and transverse directions relative to the needle support. In order to guide the needles and sinkers so that they are laterally stable and to be able to operate them quietly and using relatively little power, it is suggested that the sinkers be composed of a push sinker adapted for displacement solely in the longitudinal direction and a holding-down and knocking-over sinker articulatedly connected to the push sinker and adapted for displacement in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, that the needles and push sinkers be commonly guided between webs on the needle support means, the needles thereby resting against the backs of the push sinkers, and that the pivot connection between the push sinker on the one hand and the holding-down and knocking-over sinker on the other be designed and arranged such that the holding-down and knocking-over sinker is disposed between the needles in the region of their heads.

Stitch-forming machine

The invention relates to a device for compensating the differences in thermal expansion of the needle cylinder and sinker ring in a circular knitting machine, with which the sinker ring is supported on projections of webs inserted into axially extending grooves in the needle cylinder. In order to compensate for the differences in thermal expansion, the top region of the needle cylinder is designed to be radially displaceable relative to the sinker ring.

In a circular knitting machine problems may arise from differential thermal expansion, particularly in a radial direction, or rotatable carrier disc (22) and a coaxial bearing body (16) in which it runs by means of a bearing (36). In order to overcome this by absorption of the differential expansion, one of the running surfaces of the bearing is formed on or supported by a resiliently yieldable part (34), which preferably also preloads the bearing. As alternatives to the illustrated embodiment, in which the yielding is axial, as indicated by the arrow A, the yielding may be radial, and also the yieldable part may be on the bearing body (16) rather than the carrier disc (22).
