An actuating device, specifically for actuating locking differentials on vehicles, having an actuating shaft, a drive unit to drive the actuating shaft, where the drive unit comprises an armature core mounted to the actuating shaft so as not to rotate, and a commutator mounted to the actuating shaft so as not to rotate and/or with an electromagnetic brake unit to slow and/or stop the actuating shaft, where the brake unit includes a brake hub flange mounted on the armature so as not to rotate and having a single- or multi-piece housing tightly enclosing the drive unit and the brake unit, where the free end of the actuating shaft extends from the housing and with a sensor to measure the angle of rotation of the shaft, where the sensor unit includes at least one trigger wheel indirectly coupled to the shaft and at least one sensor scanning the trigger wheel position and coupled indirectly to the housing.

A drive device includes an electric drive motor, a housing with a housing cover, at least one shaft that is powered by the drive motor and compensating element(s) for compensating the axial play of the shaft. The compensating elements include at least one axially elastic, deformable elastomer element having at least one contact surface. The contact surface(s) has a PTFE, PET or corresponding coating.

A cover plate for an electric motor which has a brush array and interference suppression devices has additional electronic components mounted directly on the cover to determine the speed of the electric motor and for diagnosis. Contact with the interference suppression devices and the additional electronic components is achieved through electrical conductors which are located directly on the cover plate. Flexible use of the electric motor is ensured through the high temperature stability of the cover plate.

A drive device includes an electric drive motor, a housing, at least one shaft which is driven by the drive motor, and a compensating member for compensating the axial clearance of the shaft. A spring ring disk, which can be expanded radially counter to an elastic force and has two stopping surfaces radially extending towards each other on the axis of the shaft in the form of a wedge, is arranged on the shaft as the compensating member. The shaft has a ring-shaped projection which matches one of stopping surfaces and the housing has an annular collar which matches the other stopping surface. The spring ring disc is pre-tensed and arranged in between the projection and the annular collar.

Drive device

A process for producing an electronic component, such as a Hall sensor, in which electronic parts are located in a plastic housing. The process includes the steps of locating the electronic parts in a hot-melt adhesive, allowing the hot-melt adhesive to solidify, and finish-extrusion coating the electronic parts in the solidified hot-melt adhesive to form the housing. In an alternative embodiment, the process may also include the step of embedding the electronic parts in the hot-melt adhesive. In yet another embodiment, the process may also include the step of extrusion-coating the electronic parts with the hot-melt adhesive. Materials having substantially similar coefficients of thermal expansion may be used for the hot-melt adhesive used for mounting the electronic parts, and for the finish-extrusion coating that forms the housing to minimize effects of thermal expansion. The process is efficient and cost effective.
