A device for determining a common-mode signal in a power line communication network. The device includes a first line, a second line, and a third line that are connected to a first terminal, to a second terminal, and to a third terminal, respectively. The first, the second, and the third terminal are configured to be connected to a phase line, a neutral line, and a protective ground line of the power line communication network, respectively. The device further includes a common-mode choke configured to couple out the common signal from the first, second, and third line, and the common-mode choke is connected to a termination impedance which is higher than an impedance of the power line communication network.

Multiple-input and multiple-output modem for connection in a power line communication network

A power line communication modem is provided including a transmitter configured to transmit a power line signal on at least one carrier of a plurality of carriers via a power line to a further power line communication modem; and a processor configured to allocate transmit powers to individual carriers of the plurality of carriers, wherein the sum of the transmit powers of individual carriers located in the first frequency range is below or equal to a first predetermined power maximum value for the first frequency range. A corresponding power line communication system and a power line communication method are provided as well.

Device for coupling out a common-mode signal in a power line communication network

A testing device including: a first terminal configured to be connected to an equipment under test; a common-mode detector configured to detect a common-mode part of a signal emitted from the equipment under test; and a first impedance unit connected in series between the first terminal and the common-mode detector. The first impedance unit is configured to adjust a longitudinal conversion loss of the testing device to a predetermined value. A corresponding method determines a common mode signal of an electrical telecommunication.
