An address generation apparatus for quadratic permutation polynomial (QPP) interleaver receives several configurable parameters and uses a plurality of QPP units to compute and outputs a plurality of interleaving addresses according to a QPP function &#x3a0;(i)=(fi+fi) mod k, where fand fare QPP coefficients, k is information block length of an input sequence, 0&#x2266;i&#x2266;k&#x2212;1, and mod is a modulus operation. Each of the plurality of QPP units is a parallel computation unit, and outputs in parallel a corresponding group of interleaver addresses, where &#x3a0;(i) is also a iinterleaving address generated by the apparatus.

A wireless communication system includes one or more base stations, which may include one or more antennas for signal communications; a transceiver device, and a communication control device. The transceiver device is configured to communicate with a first group of relay stations being configured to receive and relay a first group of wireless communication signals from at least one base station and a second group of relay stations being configured to receive and relay a second group of wireless communication signals from at least one base station. The communication control device is configured to control one or both of (1) signal transmission power of at least one antenna and (2) signal communication timing of at least one antenna. High speed hardware implementation of modified Reed-Solomon decoder

A synchronization code detecting apparatus is designed for synchronization code detection in cell search in a code division multiple access (CDMA) system. The synchronization code detecting apparatus mainly includes a compensation unit for providing frequency offset compensation to the incoming signal and for determining a plurality of sampling points of the incoming signal. A plurality of sub-detecting units is coupled to the compensation unit for detecting a synchronization code of the incoming signal transmitting from the compensation unit. A selection unit is coupled to the output of each sub-detecting unit for selecting a plurality of slot boundaries as a plurality of candidates to be forwarded to a second processing stage. Consequently, the synchronization code detecting apparatus effectively reduces the effect of clock offset in the system without increasing the hardware complexity and power consumption.

Synchronization code detecting apparatus for cell search in a CDMA system

The present invention discloses a cell search method for a CDMA system, using a three-stage cell search. The method comprises matching an incoming signal from the base station, wherein the frequency of the incoming signal having an uncertain range; over-sampling the incoming signal N times against a chip rate and outputting the N over-samples; down-sampling the incoming signal and outputting N over-samples to a first stage, a second stage and a third stage. The first stage further comprises selecting a first group of slot boundaries as a first group of candidates after pre-selection, and the first group of candidates transmitting to a deciding selection stage of the first stage and the second stage to be continuously processed. The cell search method of the present invention can be used to reduce the effect of clock offset on the performance of cell search and to accomplish fast cell search.
