Systems and methods are described for a virtual sensor that determines an amount of grain loss during operation of a combine harvester without any direct measurement of grain loss. An electronic controller is configured to determine values for a set of operating conditions including a plurality of sensor values and actuator settings. The electronic controller then applies an artificial neural network that is configure to receive as inputs the values for the set of operating conditions and to produce as an output a value indicative of an estimate amount of grain loss.

A mobile machine includes a propulsion subsystem that propels the mobile machine across an operational environment. The mobile machine also includes machine monitoring logic that receives a sensor signal indicative of a value of a sensed machine variable and operator monitoring logic that receives an operator sensor signal indicative of a value of a sensed operator variable. The mobile machine also includes performance index generator logic that receives the sensed machine variable and the sensed operator value and generates a performance index based on the sensed machine variable and the sensed operator value. The mobile machine also includes optimization system that accesses historic circumstantial data and receives the performance index and generates an optimization signal based on the performance index, and the historic circumstantial data and control signal generator logic that generates a control signal based on the optimization signal to perform a machine operation.

A radio frequency (RF) grain mass and constituent measurement system utilized onboard a combine harvester includes an RF sensor subsystem for capturing RF sensor readings of a harvested grain within an area of the combine harvester. A memory stores an RF characteristic database, which contains RF characteristic testing data collected for tested grain samples over one or more tested frequency ranges. A controller, operably coupled to the RF sensor subsystem and to the memory, is configured to: (i) receive the RF sensor readings from the RF sensor subsystem; (ii) determine grain mass and a first constituent content of the currently-harvested grain based, at least in part, on an analytical comparison between the RF sensor readings and the RF characteristic testing data; and (iii) perform at least one action in response to determining the grain mass and the first constituent content of the harvested grain.

A fleet management control system and method are disclosed for a plurality of work vehicles each having a respective work tool. The work vehicles are associated with an owner and a plurality of operators. The fleet management system includes a source of input data that provides operator identification data for the work vehicles and operator permissions data that indicates at least which of the work vehicles each of the operators is permitted to operate. The fleet management system includes a remote processing system having a processor that receives and processes the operator identification and operator permissions data, outputs fleet management data that includes a fleet operator profile for the work vehicles based on the operator identification and operator permissions data, and communicates the fleet management data to a controller of each of the work vehicles.
