A method of cleaning an automatic biochemical analyzer, wherein the cleaning solution includes: at least one anionic surfactant, at least one nonionic surfactant, an alkali metal hydroxide, an alkali metal citrate, and a buffering agent stabilizing the pH value above 13.0. In some embodiments, the cleaning solution provides low residual rate of proteins, low residual rate of lipids, desirable within-batch repeatability in clinical testing, low level of cross-contamination, and low level of reactant deposit after cleaning, without affecting test results of the biochemical analyzer. In some embodiments, the cleaning solution has no corrosive effects on the liquid path and reaction cup of the analyzer. The ingredients of the cleaning solution may also be biodegradable.

Methods for cleaning an automatic biochemical analyzer

A reagent for classification of leukocytes includes (a) at least two cationic surfactants; (b) at least one organic compound bearing a hydrophobic group and an anionic group; (c) a buffer for adjusting pH into a range of approximately 2-8. Also disclosed is a method for classifying leukocytes with the reagent. With the reagent and method, erythrocytes are lysed rapidly and classification of leukocytes into five groups is achieved in the same channel. The reaction may be carried out at approximately between 10-40&#xb0; C. and scattered light signals may be detected at two angles for measuring the classification of leukocytes into five groups.

Reagents and methods for classifying leukocytes

A reagent for four-part differentiation of white blood cells is provided. In one embodiment the reagent has an osmolality below 50 mOsm/kg HO. A method for differentiating white blood cells using the reagent is also provided. The disclosure provides for a rapid lysis of red blood cells and four-part differentiation of white blood cells. The reagent may be simple in components and a surfactant is not necessary, but optional. A wide range of pH values may be suitable for the reagent.

A reagent for classifying leucocytes, including: a) at least one of surfactant selected from a cationic surfactant, an amphoteric surfactant, and the combination thereof; b) an organic compound having phenyl or heterocyclic group, wherein when the surfactant is a cationic surfactant, the organic compound is an organic compound having an anionic group; when the surfactant is an amphoteric surfactant or a combination of amphotheric and cationic surfactant, the organic compound is an organic compound having an anionic or cationic group; c) a buffer for adjusting pH.

Reagent and method for classifying leucocytes

The present invention relates to a reagent for classifying leukocytes including (a) at least one surfactant capable of lysing erythrocytes and partly damaging the cell membrane of leukocytes, (b) at least one organic compound bearing an anionic group capable of binding to the cationic component present in the leukocytes to provide morphological differences between the leukocytes, and (c) a buffer for adjusting pH to 2&#x2dc;8.
