Managing access to a conference call includes obtaining, via a calendar application, a list of participants, the list of participants includes a number of participants to be included in a conference call, identifying, from the list of participants, a first portion of the participants that have personal passcodes, generating guest passcodes for a second portion of the participants associated with the list of participants that do not have the personal passcodes, and permitting, based on the personal passcodes or the guest passcodes, each of the participants to participate in the conference call.

Managing access to a conference call

An approach for improving mobile device security is provided. The approach configures a passcode for accessing a mobile device, wherein configuring the passcode includes incorporating one or more hardware buttons into the passcode, such that the one or more hardware buttons are relevant when entering the passcode to gain entry to the mobile device. The approach receives a passcode attempt on the mobile device, wherein the passcode attempt includes a combination of one or more touch screen buttons and at least one of the one or more hardware buttons. The approach determines whether the passcode attempt matches the passcode. Responsive to a determination that the passcode attempt does not match the passcode, the approach denies access to the mobile device.

Augmenting mobile device access control modes with hardware buttons

The switch key code may include a general key code applicable to each of the conferences and/or a specific key code application to a specific conference.

A method, apparatus and computer instructions are provided to improve the push/pull workload management model with intelligent routing to effectively collect data from systems that consist of dynamic sub-systems. The invention improves the push/pull model of the referenced invention with intelligent request routing to solve the above problem. An API is exposed in the workload manager enabling its request router to decline requests to route to idle sub-systems. This allows the monitoring agent to avoid sending a pull request to an idle sub-system. Each sub-system will push the data to the agent as it enters the idle state. The agent caches the data it receives from idle sub-systems and combines it with data it pulls from active and stopped sub-systems.

Method to effectively collect data from systems that consists of dynamic sub-systems

Systems and methods for toggling between television channels that appear on a display. A listing of channels is received from a user, with the channels being prioritized in an order of preference. One or more toggle types are also received from the user, with each toggle type further including a toggle trigger. In use, a channel is displayed on the display until a toggle trigger is detected. Once detected, the channel on the display is changed to another channel from the list of channels. This process may continue with the detection of another toggle trigger causing another changing of the displayed channel.

Systems and methods for efficiently obtaining a summary from and locating data in a log file allow a user to efficiently obtain summary information and locate specific data records even in large log files. The system includes a configuration program, a log writing program, and a log reading program. The configuration program allows the user to control the duration of monitoring and the frequency of summary record creation by the log writing program. The log writing program writes data records, summary records, and summary information to a log file in response to monitored events. The log reading program retrieves summary records and data records from the log file using summary information in response to user requests.

System and method for efficiently obtaining a summary from and locating data in a log file

The invention described is a new and useful process for minimizing the overall rebate a provider disburses to customers when a service level agreement (SLA) breach occurs in a utility computing environment. Specifically, the process compares performance data and resource usage with the SLAs of the customers, and reallocates shared resources to those customers who represent a lesser penalty to the provider in the event of an SLA breach. The process determines which resources, used by customers representing the lesser penalty, are operating below peak capacity. The process then reallocates these under-utilized resources to those customers requiring additional resources to meet SLA thresholds. If all resources are operating at peak capacity, the process reallocates the resources to those customers whose SLAs represent a greater penalty in the event of an SLA breach as compared to those customers whose SLAs provide for a lesser penalty, thereby minimizing the total rebate due upon an SLA breach.
