A power supply unit adapts based on an image to be displayed by a display panel. The power supply unit includes a controller circuit for generating a power control signal, and a power supply circuit for generating one or more power supply voltages having a waveform based the power control signal. The controller circuit receives a set of configuration parameters from a display device and generates the power control signal based on the set of configuration parameters. The configuration parameters are stored in a look-up table of the display device.

Embodiments relate to a display device with reduced scanning time by using a reference line separate from a data line to improve frame rate of the display device. A first pixel in a first row samples a reference voltage during a first period and samples a data voltage during a second period. A second pixel in a second row adjacent to the first row samples the reference voltage during a third period and samples the data voltage during a fourth period, where the third period overlaps with at least a portion of the second period. The reference voltage is provided by the reference line that is connected to a reference buffer, and the data voltage is provided by the data line connected to a source driver circuit.

Embodiments relate to a display device including bonding pads on a display element where data signals for a plurality of columns of pixels are provided to a same bonding pad in a time-divisional manner. Each of the bonding pads is connected to a plurality of demultiplexer circuits for sampling data signals at the bonding pad, storing the data signals, and transferring the sample data signals to corresponding columns of pixels. Each column of pixels includes a plurality of columns of subpixels, and a period during which a demultiplexer circuit samples the bonding pad for a column of subpixels of a first color may at least partially overlap with a period during which the demultiplexer circuit transfers previously sampled data signals to a column of subpixels of a second color.

Embodiments relate to a display device including pixels arranged in rows and columns, where duty cycles of the pixels are dynamically programmed according to eye tracking information. For a display frame, the display device may determine a gaze region and a non-gaze region based on the eye tracking information. A control circuit of the display device controls a first subset of pixels in the gaze region to operate with a first duty cycle and controls a second subset of pixels in the non-gaze region to operate with a second duty cycle greater than the first duty cycle. The first subset of pixels emits light with greater brightness than the second subset of pixels.

A device for generating a ramp signal with a changing slope is disclosed. The device may comprise a processor configured to generate a variable signal. The device may also comprise a phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit configured to receive the variable signal and a reference clock signal, generate a changing ramp clock signal based on the variable signal and the reference clock signal, and output the generated changing ramp clock signal as an input of an analog-to-digital-converter (ADC) circuit.

An image sensor having an image acquisition mode and an ambient light sensing mode includes a pixel array having pixel cells organized into rows and columns for capturing image data and ambient light data. Readout circuitry is coupled via column bit lines to the pixels cells to read out the image data along the column bit lines. An ambient light detection ('ALD') unit is selectively coupled to the pixel array to readout the ambient light data and to generate an ambient light signal based on ambient light incident upon the pixel array. Control circuitry is coupled to the pixel array to control time sharing of the pixels cells between the readout circuitry during image acquisition and the ALD unit during ambient light sensing.
