A process and a device are proposed for the casting and unpacking of clusters which, after the casting, after passage over a primary cooling path, are freed by jolting from the surrounding molded clump consisting of mold sand, whereupon, after passage over a secondary cooling path, the individual castings are separated from the cluster. The cluster is cast with a hanger which is present in front in the direction of transport, and the molded clump is conveyed over a discharge shaft for old sand against a transport hook in the manner that the hanger with the transport hook suspended, swings downward, throwing off the predominant quantity of old sand from the molded clump, whereupon the cluster is jolted.

Process and device for the unpacking of casting clusters

A method and an apparatus for marking green sand molds are proposed, in which the surface of the sand is individually marked by means of an identification once compacting of the molds in the mold cavity has taken place, in such a way that the marking is transferred from the surface of the sand to the casting by the casting operation.

Method and apparatus for the individual marking of green sand molds

A molding process and an apparatus wherein the molds produced in a molding machine are sent past a casting apapratus where casting takes place. Thereafter, the molds with the molding boxes surrounding them, pass through a primary cooling line, at the end of which molds and molding boxes are separated. The molding boxes are returned to the molding machine, while the sand molds with the castings pass through a secondary cooling zone for further cooling. The process allows for a substantially smaller number of molding boxes than previously known molding processes.

Molding process and apparatus

A process and apparatus for compacting granular molding materials in a mold cavity defined by a pattern plate, a mold box arranged thereon, a filling frame on the molding box and a pressure chamber comprises applying pressure to the exterior peripheral wall surfaces of the molding box which pressure acts in opposition to the compacting pressure applied to the granular materials in the mold cavity. The pressure applied to the exterior walls of the molding box is independent of the compacting pressure applied over the granular molding materials.

Apparatus for the compacting of granular molding materials

An apparatus for compacting granular materials comprises a rack having a pedestal for supporting the mold which contains the granular material to be compacted. A compacting mechanism for applying a compacting force to the granular material is mounted for vertical movement above the mold and is provided with a seal for sealing the mold when applying a compacting force to the granular molding material.
