The invention relates to an injection valve, comprising a control chamber () with a control piston () that is functionally linked with a nozzle needle (). The control chamber () is linked, via an inlet throttle (), with pressurized fuel, and with an outlet throttle () with a valve chamber (). A servo valve () is disposed in the valve chamber (), said servo valve opening a connection between the valve chamber () and a return element () depending on its position. The inventive injection valve further comprises a bypass throttle () that is interposed between the fuel feed line and the valve chamber.

A high pressure injection system comprises at least one fuel high pressure accumulator, a control chamber and a valve, in addition to an injection valve having a valve needle and a control piston. The control chamber is connected to the high pressure accumulator by means of an inlet throttle and to the valve by means of an outlet throttle. The control chamber controls the movement of the control piston and the valve needle connected thereto. To this end, flow conditions of the fuel flowing into and out of the control chamber are regulated by means of the inlet throttle and the outlet throttle. The inlet throttle is configured as a multi-stage throttle.

A method for producing a hole in a body, especially an injection hole in a fuel injector is disclosed. The hole (L) is first produced by a percussion boring process or a trepanation boring process using a laser. The percussion boring process lasts less than 3 seconds. The trepanation boring process lasts less than 10 seconds. After percussion boring or trepanation boring a smoothing step is carried out by forcing a medium that is mixed with abrasive particles under pressure through the hole until any roughnesses of surfaces (F) of the body that form the hole (L) are substantially removed.

The invention relates to an injection valve () comprising a booster piston (), said piston delimiting a pump chamber () and a booster chamber (). A valve () is provided in the inlet to the chamber (). The valve is configured as a 3/2-way valve and controls the pressure in the pump chamber (). The pressure in the pump chamber () is converted into a correspondingly increased pressure in the booster chamber () and in an injection chamber () containing an injection needle (), by means of the booster piston (). The use of the valve () allows a precise control of the injection times.

A temperature compensated actuator device comprises a piezoelectric stack having first and second ends along a central axis and having a first thermal expansion coefficient; and a compensator arranged on one end of the piezoelectric stack. The compensator comprises a first member in form of a cylinder; a second member in form of a piston plate wherein the first member and the second member are arranged movably along the axis with respect to each other and define a hollow space between them; and a compensation member having a thermal expansion coefficient higher than the first thermal expansion coefficient for filling the hollow space.

An apparatus for driving a piezoelectrically controlled fuel injection valve includes a piezoelectric actuator having a discharging device and preferably a power MOSFET switch connected in parallel therewith.
