A serial peripheral interface memory module using address cache comprises a flash memory array for storing data, a serial/parallel convertor for receiving serial signals and generating a control command, an address and data, an address register, an address accumulator for accumulating the address in the address register and storing the accumulated address back to the address register, and a flash memory controller for controlling the access to the flash memory array. When the control command is a standard command, the serial/parallel controller first stores the address following the control command into the address register and then the flash memory controller accesses data according to the address in the address register. When the control command is a specific command, the flash memory controller directly accesses data according to the address in the address register without waiting for an address update.

A serial transmission controller, a serial transmission decoder and a serial transmission method thereof are disclosed. First, a current address and an access address are compared to select one of a plurality of transmission address modes as an access address mode and then to produce corresponding address information. The transmission address modes use different bits to transmit the address information respectively. According to the access address mode, an access command is selected from a serial command set. Finally, the access command and the address information are transmitted to a serial interface serially. A high-resolution still picture decoding device is disclosed, which has a memory device, an image decoder, and a decoding controller. The memory device has a bit-stream buffer, a frame buffer and a temporary buffer. The image decoder and decoding controller decode the bit-stream data in the bit-stream buffer and store the decoded data in the frame buffer or temporary buffer. When a still picture is to be displayed, the frame buffer stores part of the frame data corresponding to the still picture and the temporary buffer is provided to store the other frame data which is decoded in real time as the still picture is displayed. A video decompressing system with high-efficiency memory access capability has a memory device for storing reference frames which are read out for performing motion compensation in decompressing process. The reference frame has its pixels arranged as a plurality of horizontal lines for being stored in the memory device. If the pixels of one horizontal line can not be integrally stored in one row of the memory device, the horizontal line is broken into at least two lines for being stored in the rows of the memory device. At the end portion of the row where the horizontal line is broken, a tail section is allocated for duplicating and storing pixels that are the same as those of a macroblock at a starting position of the next row, so as to avoid the page break problem.

The image data has a plurality of scan lines and every four scan lines are grouped for being periodically arranged in the synchronous memory in such a manner that the A-bank is sequentially stored with (4N&plus;0)-th and (4N&plus;1)-th scan lines, and the B-bank is sequentially stored with the (4N&plus;2)-th and (4N&plus;3)-th scan lines, where N is a non-negative integer, so as to always perform memory operations by alternately accessing the A-bank and B-bank.
