A power card edge connector includes: a housing defining a card slot; and a power terminal comprising an inner piece and an outer piece stacked together, the inner piece comprising a first retaining portion and a first elastic portion, the outer piece comprising a second retaining portion and a second elastic portion, the first and second retaining portions attached together, wherein the first elastic portion defines a first contacting portion, the second elastic portion is split into a second contacting portion and an abutting portion separated from each other, the first and second the contacting portions are arranged side by side and protrude into the card slot, and the first contacting portion is pushable outward to abut against the abutting portion.

A card edge connector includes an insulative housing and two rows of terminals. The insulative housing includes two side walls. The terminals include signal terminals and grounding terminals each having a retaining portion, a contact portion, and a soldering portion. A securing mechanism for retaining a daughter board upon the primary board includes a base, which is moveably assembled upon the main board, and a latch assembled upon the base and moveable between a locking position and an unlocking position. The base forms a support platform upwardly abutting against the underside of the daughter board and equipped with an arc protrusion for receipt within a notch of the daughter board, and a grounding piece with one end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad of the daughter board and the other end mechanically and electrically connecting a grounding pad on the main board. The base forms a horizontal slot to receive the main body so as to retain the base to the main body in position in the vertical direction. The latch forms a pressing face downwardly pressing an upper side of the daughter board.

An electrical connector includes an insulative elongated housing with an elongate central slot for receiving a daughter card, a plurality of contacts disposed in the housing by two sides of the central slot, and a mounting section located at one end of the housing with a unitary ejector pivotally mounted therein. The ejector forms a receiving slot for receiving the daughter board, and a pair of engagement arms located by two opposite sides of the receiving slot with corresponding hook at front ends to be engaged within corresponding engagement slots formed in the mounting section. Each deflectable engagement arms includes a metal piece associated therewith not only preventing breaking of the deflectable engagement arm during rotation of the ejector but also enhancing engagement between the ejector and the housing.

A plug connector is adapted to be mated with the receptacle connector and includes an insulative body with opposite top wall and bottom wall. A plurality of through openings are formed in the top wall. A plurality of grooves are formed in an interior face of the top wall to communicate the through openings of the plug connector with the corresponding apertures of the receptacle connector.

A card edge connector includes an insulative housing extending along a lengthwise direction, two rows of (contact) passageways formed in two opposite side walls with a central slot therebetween. Two rows of contacts are disposed within the corresponding passageways, respectively. The contacts include signal contacts and grounding contacts. Each side wall further forms an elongated channel by two sides of central wall under the central slot. A covering block is upwardly assembled into the corresponding channel after the corresponding contacts have been assembled into the corresponding passageways. Each block includes a deflectable latch engaged with the central wall. The covering block occupies at least one half of each passageway in the transverse direction perpendicular to the lengthwise direction. The covering block is optimally made of conductive plastic and forms a plurality of abutment ribs to respectively abut against the corresponding grounding contacts, respectively.

Each contact has a retention section, a resilient contacting section and a horizontal soldering section.
