A double-side image scanner module suitable for scanning a document having a first side and an opposing second side, having a paper feeder and an image extraction apparatus. The paper feeder has a paper-feeding through-channel through which document is transmitted. The paper-feeding through-channel is divided into a first-side scanning region for scanning the first side of the document, a second-side scanning region, aligned with the first-side scanning region for scan the second side of the document, and a paper-turning region between the first-side scanning region and the second-side scanning region, through which the document is turned up side down. A plurality of document transmission members is installed along the paper-feeding through-channel for transmitting the document. The image extraction apparatus is aligned with both the first- and second-side scanning regions to extract images of the first and second sides of the document through the first- and second-side scanning regions, respectively.

A correction scheme derives correction parameters from an interval between image data in a negative film. In one embodiment, a scanner uses the correction parameters to correct image data scanning.

Method for correcting negative film images

A scanner including at least a casing, a scanning platform, a carriage and a lateral reversing device is provided. The scanning platform is installed on the covering panel of the casing and is used to accommodate at least one document. The carriage is movably installed in the casing and will transmit a scan-finished signal after having scanned the front side of a document. The lateral reversing device, which is installed at a lateral side of the scanning platform, is equipped with a control unit and is used to turn the document over for the reverse side of the document to be scanned after the control unit has received the scan-finished signal.

A method of automatically detecting a test result of a probe zone of a test strip Is provided. In one embodiment, he method comprises capturing an image of a bar code and an image of at least one test strip from a scanning object, determining a setting value for the at least one test strip based, at least in part, on said captured image of said bar code, determining a color response of the at least one test strip, based at least in part on the captured image of said at least one test strip, and determining a test result for the at least one test strip, based at least in part on the determined color response and the determined setting value.

Method of automatically detecting a test result of a probe zone of a test strip

An image correction method is provided. First, scan an all-white document and form a scanned image including a plurality of image pixels with each of them having a gray level value. Next, gather these gray level values statistically such that each of them has an image pixel quantity. Then the maximum gray level value and the minimum gray level value are selected and a middle gray level value is obtained accordingly. Following that, determine whether the reference gray level value is greater or smaller than the middle gray level value according to the document, select the gray level values from within the interval of (the reference gray level value&#xb1;a gray level value), and weight average the selected gray level values according to these selected gray level values and their corresponding image pixel quantities to obtain a corrected gray level value.

An optical scanner equipped with plug-in calibration film, which the optical scanner provides light incident upon a transmission-typed document and catches the image signals of the transmission-typed document by an optical chassis. The optical scanner equipped with plug-in calibration film includes a scanning zone and at least one attachment. The scanning zone is capable of providing for placing the transmission-typed document. The attachment is capable of providing a calibration film for enabling the optical chassis to retrieve the image signals so as to improve the image brightness.
