The present disclosure relates generally to the field of video processing, and more particularly to high dynamic range (HDR) video and image processing. In particular, the present disclosure relates to determining one or more curve parameters of a tone mapping curve. For example, a device (encoder or decoder) may obtain a high dynamic range (HDR) video frame and metadata associated to the HDR video frame. The device further obtains a pair of anchor points, based on the HDR video frame and the metadata. The pair of anchor points comprises a first anchor point and a second anchor point of the tone mapping curve. Moreover, the device generates the one or more curve parameters of the tone mapping curve based on the pair of anchor points.

This application provides a dynamic range mapping method and apparatus. The dynamic range mapping method includes: obtaining a display parameter of a terminal device; obtaining feature information of image data; obtaining a first parameter of a first tone mapping curve of the image data; when a preset condition is met, obtaining a second parameter of a second tone mapping curve based on the first parameter, the display parameter of the terminal device, and the feature information of the image data, where output luminance at a first point on the second tone mapping curve is not greater than input luminance at the first point on the second tone mapping curve; and performing dynamic range mapping on the image data based on the second parameter of the second tone mapping curve.

Inter prediction method and apparatus are disclosed to resolve problems in the conventional technology that prediction samples obtained in an inter prediction mode are spatially discontinuous, prediction efficiency is affected, and prediction residual energy is relatively high. In one example, a method includes: parsing a bitstream to obtain a syntax element, where the syntax element includes at least an index of optimal candidate motion information of a current block; determining, based on the syntax element, to construct a first list or a second list for the current block, where the first list is a block-based candidate motion information list, and the second list is a subblock-based candidate motion information list; determining optimal motion information from the first list or the second list based on the index; and predicting the current block based on the optimal motion information. In this method, the block-based candidate motion information list and the subblock-based candidate motion information list are distinguished from each other. This effectively reduces transmission costs of the optimal candidate motion information.

A method for generating a hexahedral mesh based on a closed-form polycube includes steps of: converting a surface triangular mesh into a tetrahedral mesh; obtaining an initial 3-dimensional frame field; according surface normal constraint, generating a smooth frame field without singular line inside the model; extracting a transition relation on the cut surface based on the smooth frame field; providing Poisson optimization on cut model based on the frame field for obtaining a preliminary parameterized result; using L1-optimization for forming a final closed-form polycube; optimizing with an mixed integer for obtaining a final parameterized result; and extracting the hexahedral mesh. The method automatically generates the hexahedral mesh from the triangular mesh, and has nothing to do with an initial position of an object, which is able to better satisfy a characteristic constraint of the model; and for a model with complex topology, high quality hexahedral mesh is available.
