The present disclosure provides a method of processing UE idle state, a mobility management (MM) entity, and a session management (SM) function entity. The method includes: receiving, by the mobility management MM function entity, a connection release request sent by an access network entity, wherein the connection release request carries identifier information of the UE; and sending, by the MM function entity, a user plane connection deactivation request to the SM function entity according to the connection release request, the user plane connection deactivation request is used to request the SM function entity to delete the user plane connection of the UE, and maintain the signaling plane connection of the UE. In this way, after the UE is in an idle state, the user plane between the UE and the core network is not maintained, but the signaling plane remains.

Method of processing UE idle state with separated mm function entity and SM function entity, mobility management function entity, and session management function entity

A method and a device for establishing connection are provided. The method for establishing connection is applied to a mobility management functional entity and includes: acquiring path selection reference information when a user equipment UE accesses a wireless network; and selecting a session management functional entity and/or a user plane anchor for the user equipment based on the path selection reference information.

A method of selecting a user plane gateway and a device of selecting a user plane gateway are provided. The method includes: receiving, by a CP function, a first data packet sent by a UE; selecting, by the CP function, based on the first data packet, a first target UP-GW for the UE. An UP-GW is selected for the UE when receiving the data packet sent by the UE, so as to enable the data transmission to better adapt to changes of the UP load and the network topology, thereby improving the data transmission efficiency.

Method of selecting user plane gateway and device of selecting user plane gateway

A UE idle state processing method and a UE idle state processing device are provided. The UE idle state processing method includes: receiving a service request message from a UE forwarded by an RAN; and requesting an SM function body to establish a user plane connection for the UE in accordance with the service request message.
