Biosensor systems including a measurement device and test sensors including at least three independently addressable electrodes, with at least two of the electrodes being substantially chemically isolated are disclosed. One or more working electrodes may be combined with two or more counter electrodes. The two or more counter electrodes may operate at different potentials to provide for multi-analyte electrochemical analysis. Analysis methods are provided to perform multi-analyte electrochemical analysis and test sensors are provided having resistance to chemical mixing between secondary analysis regions.

Multi-region and potential test sensors, methods and systems

A lancet-release mechanism is adapted to be incorporated into a lancing device. The lancing device is adapted to receive a lancet assembly therein. The lancing device is adapted to move the lancet assembly between a resting position, a cocking position, and a puncture position. The lancet-release mechanism comprises a lancet holder and a cantilever beam. The lancet holder forms a central aperture. The central aperture is adapted to receive the lancet assembly therein. The lancet holder further forms a plurality of protuberances thereon. The cantilever beam has a projection extending therefrom. The projection is adapted to engage the plurality of protuberances located on the lancet holder. The projection is adapted to separate the plurality of protuberances from each other so as to enlarge the central aperture.

Lancet-release mechanism

A lancing device comprises a lancet holder and a lancet-release mechanism. The lancet holder forms an aperture. The aperture is adapted to receive a lancet assembly therein. The lancet holder is adapted to move the lancet assembly between a resting position, a cocking position, and a puncture position. The lancet-release mechanism includes a release button located adjacent to and external from the lancing device and a beam attached to the release button. The beam extends into the lancing device and the lancet holder. The beam is adapted to engage the lancet assembly. The release button and attached beam are adapted to eject the lancet assembly from the lancet holder.

Lancet release mechanism

A lancing mechanism is adapted to move between resting, cocking and puncture positions and comprises a lancet holder, a shaft, at least one spring and a mass. The shaft is attached to the lancet holder and has an enlarged end opposite the lancet holder. The spring surrounds at least a portion of the shaft and has first and second portions. The second portion of the spring is attached to the lancet holder. The spring drives the lancing mechanism between the cocking and puncture positions. The mass is located along the spring with the first and second portions of the spring extending on opposite sides of the mass. The mass is distinct from the lancet holder. The first portion dampens the lancing mechanism when moving from the puncture position to the resting position.

Single-puncture lancing system

A reconfigurable integrated lancet system comprises a testing device having a housing, a lancet holding device frame, a lancet, and at least one connection mechanism. The lancet holding device frame is adapted to fasten around a periphery of the housing of the testing device. The lancet holding device frame has a first lock receiving region. The lancet has a second lock receiving region. The at least one connection mechanism has a first locking end and a second locking end. The first locking end is adapted to interact within the first lock receiving region of the lancet holding device frame, to connect the connection mechanism to the lancet holding device frame. The second locking end is adapted to interact within the second lock receiving region of the lancet, to connect the connection mechanism to the lancet.

Reconfigurable integrated lancet system

A test-sensor cartridge comprising a plurality of test sensors adapted to assist in determining an analyte concentration of a fluid sample. The cartridge further comprises a plurality of walls forming a cavity therein. The cavity is adapted to include the plurality of test sensors. At least one of the plurality of walls forms at least one aperture. The cartridge further comprises a lid adapted to enclose the cavity. The cartridge further comprises a locking feature adapted to lock the lid to one or more of the walls. The locking feature is adapted to be disengaged by the at least one aperture receiving a projection of an analyte-testing instrument.

Test-sensor cartridge

A test-sensor cartridge including a plurality of test sensors adapted to assist in determining an analyte concentration of a fluid sample. The cartridge further includes a plurality of walls forming a cavity therein. The cavity is adapted to include the plurality of test sensors. At least one of the plurality of walls forms at least one aperture. The cartridge further includes a lid adapted to enclose the cavity. The cartridge further includes a locking feature adapted to lock the lid to one or more of the walls. The locking feature is adapted to be disengaged by the at least one aperture receiving a projection of an analyte-testing instrument.

A biosensor system determines the presence and/or concentration of an analyte in a sample using one or more calibrated correlation equations. The analysis may be electrochemical, optical, or a combination thereof. The biosensor system may be implemented using a measurement device and a sensor strip. The measurement device applies test signals to a multi-layered encoding area of the sensor strip. Calibration information is determined from the patterns generated by the interaction of the test signals with the multi-layered encoding area.

Multi-layered biosensor encoding systems

A lancing device includes a housing, at least two ramps, a lancet holder, a drive spring, and an activation mechanism. The housing includes first and second ends, and a first wall. The first end has an aperture extending therethrough and the first wall has an opening extending therethrough. The two ramps are located within the housing and forms a channel therebetween. The lancet holder is partially contained within the channel formed by the ramps and holds a lancet. The activation mechanism includes a user-accessible component and a plate spring. A portion of the user-accessible component extends through the opening and is external to the housing. The plate spring engages the ramps forming the channel and the lancet holder upon depression of the user-accessible component, the lancet holder moves towards the second end to a cocked position. Upon further depression of the user-accessible component, the lancet holder moves toward the first end to a puncture position.

Single-handed, reduced vibration lancing device

A test sensor packaging container for use in sensor instrument. The test sensor packaging container comprises a housing, a first foil cover, and a second foil cover. The housing has a plurality of test sensor containing regions. Each of the test sensor containing regions has a proximal end and a distal end and is adapted to contain a test sensor. The test sensor containing regions protrude radially outward from the center of the housing. The housing has a top portion and a bottom portion that are generally parallel. Each of the test sensors has a width direction and a thickness direction. The first foil cover is adapted to cover the top portion of the housing. The second foil cover is adapted to cover the distal end of the plurality of test sensor containing regions. A plane generally parallel to the width direction of each of the plurality of test sensors is generally perpendicular to the top and bottom portion of the housing.

Packaging container for test sensors

A test sensor container that releasably attaches to a testing device for testing an analyte concentration in a fluid sample. The test sensor container comprises a housing, a connector and an opening formed in the housing. The housing contains a plurality of test sensors. The opening formed in the housing receives a test sensor having the fluid sample to be tested by the testing device. The opening includes at least two contact springs for contacting the test sensor to be tested.
