A scroll compressor (), comprising a fixed scroll (), a movable scroll () and a drive shaft (); the scroll compressor () further comprises a movable scroll counterweight (); the movable scroll counterweight () is configured to rotate with the drive shaft (); and the centrifugal force of the movable scroll counterweight () caused by the rotation acts on the hub () of the movable scroll (). The above structure can effectively reduce the impact of the centrifugal force of the movable scroll on the radial seal of a scroll component, thus achieving proper radial sealing force between the fixed scroll and the movable scroll at any rotating speed.

Scroll compressor

Exemplary embodiments or implementations are disclosed of systems for providing heat for use inside a structure and control apparatus and methods relating to material drying systems. In an exemplary embodiment, a control apparatus for controlling heat and/or humidity inside a structure selects one or more heat sources from a plurality of heterogeneous heat sources. The heat sources include a heat storage reservoir and a heat pump system between which heat is selectively transferrable via a fluid of the heat storage reservoir and a refrigerant of the heat pump system. The selecting is performed based on sensor input(s). The control apparatus controls the selected heat source(s) to provide heat inside the structure.

Providing heat for use inside a structure

A compressor may include a shell, a compression mechanism, a crankshaft, a bearing support, and a lubricant sump. The compression mechanism may be disposed in the shell and may compress a working fluid. The crankshaft may be disposed at least partially in the shell and may drivingly engage the compression mechanism. The bearing support may rotatably support the crankshaft. The lubricant sump may retain a volume of lubricant and may be disposed between the bearing support and the compression mechanism.

Compressor and oil-cooling system

Exemplary embodiments or implementations are disclosed of systems for drying materials and control apparatus and methods relating to material drying systems. In an exemplary embodiment, a control apparatus for a material drying system is configured to select one or more heat sources from a plurality of heterogeneous heat sources for drying the material. The selecting is performed based on one or more sensor inputs. The control apparatus controls the selected heat source(s) to provide heat to dry the material. In some configurations, a material drying system operates as a typical heat pump only when more cost-effective auxiliary heat cannot be provided to maintain a drying temperature.

Apparatus and methods for drying material

A scroll compressor includes a discharge valve assembly having a valve member, a valve stop supported within the compressor shell and including an aperture there through and a communication member. The communication member defines a fluid passage extending into the discharge chamber from the valve stop toward the first discharge outlet in the discharge chamber and provides fluid communication between the aperture in the valve stop and a location downstream of the valve stop. A first side of the valve member abuts the valve stop when in an open position and the valve stop provides communication between the first side of the valve member and the communication member via the aperture.

An external heat exchanger is used to transfer heat from a compressor lubricant to an expanded working fluid, thereby cooling the lubricant. The heat exchanger may also be used to sub-cool condensed working fluid with the same flow of expanded working fluid. A horizontal scroll-type compressor includes an intermediate lubricant sump between a main bearing support and a scroll member. A counterweight on the crankshaft can travel through the lubricant in the intermediate sump to splash the lubricant around. A horizontal scroll-type compressor can include multiple machined surfaces that are utilized to precisely center and align components of the compressor.

A compressor includes a shell, a compression mechanism supported within a suction pressure region of the shell and including a discharge outlet in communication with the discharge chamber, and a discharge valve assembly. The discharge valve assembly includes a valve member, a valve stop including an opening therethrough, and a communication member defining a fluid passage and extending into the discharge chamber from the valve stop toward the discharge outlet in the discharge chamber to provide fluid communication between the opening in the valve stop and a location downstream of the valve stop.

A compressor drive shaft may include a first bearing portion, a second bearing portion, and an intermediate portion disposed therebetween. The intermediate portion may include a continuous, nonlinear, central axis in an unloaded state.
