The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a feature configuration for a feature. Next, the system obtains, from the feature configuration, an anchor containing metadata for accessing the feature in an environment. The system then uses one or more attributes of the anchor to retrieve one or more feature values of the feature from the environment. Finally, the system provides the one or more feature values for use with one or more machine-learning models.

Framework for managing features across environments

The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a set of records from a set of inputs, with each record containing an entity key, a partition key, and one or more attribute-value pairs. Next, the system sorts and indexes the records by the entity key for each partitioned input. The system then processes a query of the records by matching entity key values to the sorted and indexed records for each input partition in the query. Next, the system merges the subset of records with the same entity key values into records, with each merged record containing an entity key field and a single field that includes a list of attribute-value pairs from the subset. Finally, the system outputs the merged records in response to the query.

Efficient merging and filtering of high-volume metrics

A machine may be configured to generate an enhanced user interface for displaying social analytics based on viral mentions and threading. For example, the machine accesses a plurality of items of digital content. The machine extracts, for each of the plurality of items of digital content, a title that describes a particular item of digital content. The machine generates a group of items of digital content based on the extracted titles associated with the plurality of items of digital content. The machine identifies, from the group of items of digital content, an original item of digital content and one or more subsequent items of digital content. The machine determines a strength value associated with the original item of digital content. The machine generates and causes a display of an enhanced user interface that displays the title and the strength value associated with the original item of digital content.

Social analytics based on viral mentions and threading

Computer-implemented techniques for constructing structured database query language statements from natural language questions are disclosed. In some embodiments, a knowledge graph-based approach is employed to construct a structured database query language statement such as, for example, a Structure Query Language (SQL) statement, from a natural language question. The approach encompasses a domain knowledge graph model and a database schema wiring model. The domain knowledge graph model represents domain-specific knowledge about the underlying database data in the form of a graph having nodes and directed edges between the nodes. The database schema wiring model maps routes in the domain knowledge graph to database schema elements. The techniques allow a natural language interface system to accurately translate domain-specific natural language questions posed by users to structured database query language statements that can be executed against a structured database to answer the natural language question.

Constructing structured database query language statements from natural language questions

Among other things, embodiments of the present disclosure discussed herein help identify trending topics and generate customized data feeds that present trending topics to a user based on information in the user's social network profile. In some embodiments, users may select topics of interest to the user and the system can identity and present trending articles in the selected topic to the user via the user's newsfeed.

Customized data feeds for online social networks

The disclosed embodiments provide a system for processing data. During operation, the system obtains a first configuration for processing a first set of content items from a first data source and a second configuration for processing a second set of content items from a second data source. For each content item in the first set of content items, the system uses mappings from the first configuration to transform original fields from the content item into required fields in a record representing the content item. Next, the system generates, from the required fields, a document key for the content item. The system also performs deduplication of multiple records with the document key and stores a single record with the document key. Finally, the system uses the second configuration to generate, from the second set of content items, a set of records independently of processing the first set of content items.

Scalable processing of heterogeneous user-generated content

A method and apparatus for translating a hierarchical IC layout file into a format that can be used by a mask writer that accepts files having a limited hierarchy. Cover cells of the original IC layout file or a modified file are designated, and the hierarchical file is redefined to include only those designated cover cells. Non-designated cover cells and other geometric data are flattened into the designated cover cells.
