In some examples, an apparatus includes a transistor having a control terminal, in which the transistor is coupled between a power terminal and a ground terminal. The apparatus also includes a resistor. The apparatus also includes a controller having first and second controller inputs and first and second controller outputs, in which the first controller input is coupled to the power terminal, the second controller input is coupled to the control terminal, the first controller output is coupled to the control terminal, and the resistor is coupled between the control terminal and the second controller output.

Active snubber circuit

A voltage regulator circuit includes a high side (HS) transistor having a control input and a low side (LS) transistor having a control input. The LS transistor is coupled to the HS transistor at a switching terminal. A comparator has first and second inputs and an output. A first resistor is coupled to the switching terminal. A second resistor is coupled between the first resistor and the second input of the comparator. A capacitor is coupled between a second resistor terminal of the second resistor and ground. A switch has first and second switch terminals and a control input. The first switch terminal is coupled to the first resistor terminal of the second resistor, and the second switch terminal is coupled to the second resistor terminal. A delay circuit has an input and an output. The output of the delay circuit is coupled to the control input of the switch.

Voltage regulator with on-time extension

Fault detection circuits and methods. An example of a fault detection circuit includes a comparator configured to compare a voltage at a voltage terminal with a reference voltage, a digital logic circuit coupled to a test terminal and configured to receive, responsive to the voltage at the voltage terminal being less than the reference voltage as indicated by the comparator, a test signal, the digital logic circuit including at least one digital logic gate, and an edge detection circuit configured to (a) monitor a signal produced at an output of the at least one digital logic gate, and (b) based on the signal failing to transgress a threshold within a time period, providing a fault signal indicating detection of a fault at the test terminal.

Fault detection circuit

A device includes an operational amplifier having a first input, a second input and an output, the operational amplifier configured to generate a first signal at the output. The device includes a reference resistor divider having a first and second resistor, a first terminal of the first resistor coupled to the second input of the operational amplifier. A second terminal of the first resistor is coupled to a first terminal of the second resistor and a second terminal of the second resistor coupled to an electrically neutral terminal. The device includes a voltage to current (V2I) converter having an input and an output, the input coupled to the output of the operational amplifier, and the V2I converter configured to generate a second signal at the output of the V2I converter. The device includes a switch coupled to the output of the V2I converter and to the reference resistor divider.

Load regulation

A voltage converter system includes a switch adapted to be coupled to an inductor, and configured to switch between first and second states responsive to a control signal. Calibration circuitry is configured to generate a calibration signal, including setting the calibration signal to a particular value for a particular time responsive to a transient from a first load condition of the voltage converter system to a second load condition of the voltage converter system. Control circuitry is coupled to the calibration circuitry and configured to generate the control signal based on a combination of a feedback voltage, a reference voltage, the calibration signal, and a periodic signal.

Voltage converter with loop control

A voltage converter system includes a switch configured to switch between first and second states responsive to a first control signal. Timer circuitry is configured to generate a timing signal representing a duration of the first state based on input and output voltages of the voltage converter system. Control logic is coupled to the switch and the timer circuitry, and configured to generate the first control signal based on a second control signal. The second control signal is based on a feedback voltage and a reference voltage. Timer control circuitry is coupled to the control logic and the timer circuitry, and configured to: detect a phase difference between the first control signal and the second control signal; and adjust the timer circuitry to change the duration based on the phase difference.

A system includes an input voltage node configured to provide an input voltage. The system also includes a load and a switching converter coupled between the input voltage node and the load. The switching converter is configured to provide an output voltage to the load based on the input voltage. The switching converter includes gate driver circuitry and a comparator coupled to the gate driver circuitry. The switching converter also includes a constant ripple injection circuit coupled to the comparator. The constant ripple injection circuit is configured to provide a positive current sense signal and a negative current sense signal to the comparator based on the input voltage and the output voltage.

A converter system includes a first switch, a sample-and-hold unit configured to provide a comparison signal based on a feedback signal when the first switch is switched off, and hold the comparison signal independent from the feedback signal when the first switch is switched on, and a pulse-width-modulation (PWM) generator, coupled between the sample-and-hold unit and first switch, configured to generate a PWM signal based on the comparison signal, wherein the first switch is configured to be switched on and off based on the PWM signal.

DC-DC converter with improved regulation accuracy

A system includes a switching converter with an output inductor. The switching converter also includes a switch set with a switch node coupled to the output inductor. The switching converter also includes a first drive stage coupled to the switch set. The switching converter also includes a second drive stage coupled to the switch set. The switching converter also includes a controller coupled to the first drive stage and the second drive stage. The controller includes a supply voltage detector circuit. The controller also includes a level shifter coupled to an output of the supply voltage detector circuit. The controller also includes a selection circuit coupled between the level shifter and the second drive stage.

A converter system includes a first converter that includes a synchronizing terminal configured to receive a frequency signal, a synchronizing unit configured to generate a synchronizing signal having a phase shift with respect to the frequency signal, wherein the phase shift is generated based on amplitude of the frequency signal, and a regulator configured to convert a first given signal to a first converted signal, wherein the regulator is phase locked with the synchronizing signal.

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed to enable Digital Satellite Equipment Control (DiSEqC) communication between an antenna and a processor. An example apparatus includes a receiver to be coupled to an antenna by a cable and configured to bidirectionally communicate with the antenna via a communication signal having a periodic waveform, wherein the receiver further includes a low dropout regulator (LDO) pass transistor to be coupled to the cable and configured to generate a current signal based on the periodic waveform of the communication signal, a current envelope detector circuit coupled to the LDO pass transistor configured to generate a voltage signal based on the current signal, and a processor. The processor is coupled to the current envelope detector circuit and configured to process the voltage signal generated by the current envelope detector.

Methods and apparatus to control satellite equipment

An IC includes an RC filter, a doped layer under a first dielectric layer, a polysilicon layer on the first dielectric layer providing a polysilicon plate for a capacitor of the filter, and gate(s) for MOSFET(s). A second dielectric layer is on the polysilicon plate. An input contact is on one end of the polysilicon plate and an output contact is on the opposite end. A metal layer includes metal providing contact to at least input contact and metal providing contact to the output contact. Analog circuitry includes the MOSFET having an I/O node coupled to the RC filter.

Single capacitor functioning as an RC filter

A serial bus network includes a voltage regulator, a plurality of power switches, and a voltage monitor. The voltage regulator provides power to a plurality of serial buses. Each of the serial buses provides power from the voltage regulator to a device coupled to the serial bus. Each of the power switches switches power from the voltage regulator to one of the serial buses, and includes an input terminal coupled to a voltage regulator output, and an output terminal coupled to one of the serial buses. The voltage monitor is coupled to the voltage regulator and to the output terminal of each of the power switches. The voltage monitor compares bus voltages at the output terminals of the power switches, identifies a lowest of the bus voltages, and adjusts the voltage regulator output voltage such that the identified lowest of the bus voltages is within a predetermined operational voltage range.
