There is provided a method, performed by a network node, for enabling uplink power control in a wireless network. The method comprises assigning (S) a transmit power for downlink transmission of a reference signal, wherein the reference signal is to be used for power control of at least one uplink transmission. The method further comprises determining (S) a reference signal transmit power parameter providing a fictitious value for the transmit power of the reference signal that is different from the assigned transmit power. The method also comprises transmitting (S) the reference signal transmit power parameter to at least one wireless device to enable the wireless device(s) to perform transmit power determination for the uplink transmission(s) at least partly based on the fictitious value for the transmit power of the reference signal.

Power control in a wireless network

The disclosure relates to a method performed in a network node for allocating uplink reference signal resources. The network node is capable of uplink frequency selective scheduling and combined cell configuration. The network node is further arranged to provide wireless communication to a communication device. The method comprises configuring, when both uplink frequency selective scheduling and the combined cell configuration are enabled, a communication device for which uplink frequency selective scheduling is enabled with resources from a second set of resources and configuring other communication devices with resources from a first set of resources, and allocating uplink reference signal resources from the first set of resources or the second set of resources to the communication devices according to the configuration.

The method comprises: broadcasting one or more threshold values enabling the wireless devices to determine fulfillment of one or more criteria for selecting a contention based random access preamble either from a first preamble group or from a second preamble group for use in a contention based random access procedure; transmitting to a selected wireless device one or more threshold values using dedicated signaling, the one or more threshold values sent in the dedicated signaling overriding a corresponding broadcasted threshold value and being set so that the wireless device fulfills the criteria to select a preamble from the first preamble group, wherein the threshold values sent on the dedicated signaling differ from the broadcast threshold values; and prioritizing preambles of the first preamble group over preambles of the second preamble group.

Methods and devices for contention based random access

A radio network node (RNN) () and a method therein, for handling of changing primary cell from a first cell () to a second cell () during re-selection of primary cell of a user equipment (UE) (). The RNN is configured to serve the first cell, the UE is located within the first cell and is served by the RNN, and RNN and the UE are comprised in a communications system (). Fault localisation in multiple spanning tree based architectures

A fault detection means of an edge node having detected a fault is adapted to activate edge node fault locating means to locate the fault using the patch information in the edge node holding means to find a first target intermediate node substantially in the middle of the path containing the fault, and to, directly, send a first loop back message to said intermediate node. A response from said intermediate node indicates that the fault is located at the distant portion of the path, no response indicates that the fault is located at the proximate portion of the path. Further loop back messages are sent to consecutively identified intermediate nodes of the respective path portion identified to contain the fault by the respective preceding loop back message until the fault is localized.

Arrangement and a method for handling failures in a network

An admission control process in an Ethernet-based access network having both active links and idle backup links. When a service request is received in an access node, the process searches for a path of links to an access edge node with sufficient bandwidth to serve the service request. Active links are searched first. If a path of active links with sufficient bandwidth cannot be found, and the service is a unicast request, the process searches for a path that utilizes at least one idle backup link and has sufficient bandwidth to serve the service request.
