Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) frequency range two (FR2) based communications beam management. The UE may configure, via communications with a base station, serving the UE, a group ID for PUCCH resources within a group of PUCCHs, e.g., for FR2 based communications. The UE may receive, from the base station, an update to one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that may include one of a resource ID indicating an update to a PUCCH resource or the group ID to update the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may update, based on the MAC-CE, the one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs.

5G NR FR2 beam management enhancements

Reporting capabilities regarding Cross Carrier Scheduling (CCS) with different Sub-Carrier Spacing (SCS) may include generating a message to send to a base station. The message may comprise an indication of a user equipment's (UE's) capability for CCS with different SCS. Based on the UE's capability for CCS with different SCS, a number of unicast downlink control information (DCI) per physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring occasion per span may be processed to determine scheduled resources for downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) signaling or channels. The DL and UL signaling or channels may be processed using the scheduled resources.

Cross carrier scheduling with different sub-carrier spacing capability reporting

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform multiple TTI PUSCH transmissions in a wireless communication system as well as code block groups (CBGs) based retransmissions operations. A UE may perform radio resource control (RRC) signaling with a network entity to configure a data structure that may include one or more sets of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) transmission configurations, where each set of PUSCH transmission configurations span multiple TTIs. The wireless device may be configured to receive, from the network entity, a downlink control information (DCI) message that may include a time domain resource assignment field (TDRA) that may indicate a set of PUSCH transmission configurations included in the data structure. The wireless device may perform PUSCH transmissions spanning multiple TTIs according to the indicated set of PUSCH transmission configurations over an unlicensed band.

Multiple TTI PUSCH transmissions in a wireless communication system

A user equipment (UE) device may reside in a state of dual connectivity with a master cell group (MCG) and a secondary cell group (SCG), wherein the radio access technologies of the MCG and the SCG are different. While in the dual connectivity state, the UE device may transition to a mode of reduced activity (e.g., processing and/or RF activity) relative to the secondary cell group (SCG) in order to save power, e.g., when traffic flow via the SCG is below a threshold, or when scheduling activity on the SCG is low. Various mechanisms may be employed to reduce activity, e.g., mechanisms such as reduction of beam monitoring, deactivation of secondary cells of the SCG, reduction of number of active antenna elements, employment of longer periods for periodic measurement and reporting processes, etc.

Traffic-rate based branch deactivation for UE power efficiency in a dual-connectivity mode

A wireless communication system may adapt physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring behaviors using downlink control information (DCI). The change in monitoring behavior may be skipping or switching. The timeline for applying switching or skipping may be applied after a reference point and a processing time. In some embodiments, the processing time may be either based on UE processing, network processing, or a combination.

A wireless device may connect, using a first subscriber identity module (SIM), to a first base station according to a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second base station according to a second RAT. The wireless device may also connect, using a second SIM, to a third base station according to the first RAT. The wireless device may, in response to the second SIM performing a call according to the first RAT, disable the first RAT for the first SIM and perform, using the first SIM, data communication according to the second RAT while the call is performed using the second SIM.

Communication coordination and power saving techniques for multi-subscriber identity module devices

This disclosure relates to techniques for improving capability signaling and performing search space set switching, particularly with large sub-carrier spacings, as in high frequency ranges. In various scenarios, a user equipment (UE) device may signal its capability to perform multi-slot PDCCH monitoring and/or single-slot PDCCH monitoring, e.g., at various sub-carrier spacings, for various PDCCH/DCI types, etc. Various technical difficulties in this area are addressed, including increasing flexibility and versatility in capability signaling, overbooking, signaling and timing of search space set switching, and beam sweeping transmission of DCI Format 2_0, among others.

Search space set switching

Techniques described herein may include a special scheduling cell (sSCell) provided for dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS). The sSCell may schedule a primary cell of a master cell group (MCG) or a primary cell of a secondary cell group (SCG). The primary cell may be referred to as a special cell or SpCell. The sSCell may be activated and/or deactivated, enter in or exit from a state of dormancy, and radio link monitoring (RLM), beam failure recovery (BFR), and cell grouping parameters may be provided. Techniques described herein include configuring a UE-specific search space (USS) with non-fallback downlink control information (DCI), USS with fallback DCI, and overall search space for DSS enhancement.

Enhanced dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) in cell groups

This disclosure relates to methods and devices for mitigating overheating in a user equipment device (UE). The UE is configured to communicate over each of LTE and 5G NR and may be configured to communicate through 5G NR over each of a Sub-6 GHz and a millimeter Wave (mmW) frequency band. The UE is configured to establish an ENDC connection with an enB and one or more gNBs. The UE implements intelligent transmission modification and cell measurement adjustments to mitigate overheating and reduce battery drain.

Smart mechanism to manage thermal impact in 5G NR

Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for signaling unused channel occupancy time (COT) to the gNB for COT sharing among other UEs. Upon determining that a portion of the maximum COT (MCOT) provided to the UE will be unused, the UE can generate COT sharing information for transmission back to the gNB. The COT sharing information identifies a starting point and a duration (e.g., a number of consecutive slots) of the unused portion of the MCOT. This information is then encoded into configured grant uplink control information (UG-UCI) and transmitted to the gNB as part of the uplink transmission. In aspects, the unused portion may begin part-way through a slot. In this instance, a starting symbol of the unused portion or an ending symbol of the used portion may also be encoded into the uplink transmission. In this manner, unused COT is not wasted, but rather repurposed by the gNB.

Method and apparatus for channel occupancy time sharing in wireless communication

Some aspects of this disclosure relate to apparatuses and methods for implementing downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission. For example, some aspects of this disclosure relate to a base station including a transceiver configured to communicate over a wireless network with a user equipment (UE) and a processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The processor divides a plurality of candidate Synchronization Signal Block (SSB) positions in a time window into a plurality of groups and communicates, using the transceiver, information associated with the plurality of groups of candidate SSB positions to the UE. The processor further performs a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure. In response to the LBT procedure being successful, the processor determines a first group of the plurality of groups and transmits, using the transceiver, one or more SSBs on one or more candidate SSB positions of the first group to the UE.

Methods and systems for downlink transmission and interlace uplink transmission

Techniques for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) processing for multiple transmission and reception point (multi-TRP) are disclosed. In some embodiments, determining PDSCH hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) processing timing may include determining that a user equipment (UE) is configured for single downlink control information (single-DCI) multi-TRP PDSCH operation, determining a first PDSCH and a second PDSCH within a slot, wherein the first PDSCH and the second PDSCH are used in the single-DCI multi-TRP PDSCH operation, and determining a minimum HARQ-ACK processing timing for the first PDSCH and the second PDSCH using one or more symbols of the first PDSCH or one or more symbols of both the first PDSCH and the second PDSCH.

Techniques for PDSCH/PUSCH processing for multi-TRP

Techniques discussed herein facilitate generation of uplink control information for Enhanced Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) Format(s) (EPF(s)). One example embodiment employable in a User Equipment (UE) is configured to: determine Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest-Acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK) information; generate a PUCCH for a BandWidth Part (BWP) based at least in part on the HARQ-ACK information, wherein the PUCCH has an EPF; determine a PUCCH resource for the PUCCH and a first PRB index for the PUCCH, wherein the PUCCH resource is determined based at least in part on an index of a first Control Channel Element (CCE) of an associated Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) and a number of CCEs in a Control Resource Set (CORESET) of the associated PDCCH; and map the PUCCH to at least one PUCCH interlace based on the PUCCH resource and the first PRB index for the PUCCH.

Uplink control information transmission in wireless communication

A device may wirelessly communicate with a number of different cells used in a carrier aggregation. The device may monitor physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) on the different cells, dynamically switching between a dormant monitoring state (DS) and an active monitoring state (AS). In the DS, the UE may not monitor any PDCCH candidates on the active secondary SCells corresponding to the DS, or it may monitor PDCCH candidates in the search space (SS) set with the largest monitoring periodicity among the multiple SS sets on the active bandwidth part (BWP). In the AS, the UE may monitor a set of PDCCH candidates in physical resources configured by higher layers on the BWPs. Switching from one monitoring state to another may be facilitated through the use of a new downlink control information (DCI) format without data scheduling, a modified existing DCI format with data scheduling, and/or use of a DS timer.

Flexible downlink control signal monitoring in wireless communications

In an example method, a user equipment (UE) device determines one or more component carriers available to the UE device for at least one of transmitting or receiving data over a wireless network. The UE device transmits, to the wireless network, for each component carrier, an indication whether the component carrier supports at least one of transmitting or receiving data according to a multi-transmission and receiving points (multi-TRP) communication protocol.
