Performing a UE-triggered lower layer-based handover may include performing measurements of source gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a source gNB. Measurements of target gNB CSI-RS samples associated with a target gNB may be performed, wherein the CSI-RS samples associated with the source gNB and the CSI-RS samples associated with the target gNB are transmitted in a burst structure. A subset of the source gNB CSI-RS samples and the target gNB CSI-RS samples may be filtered using a layer 1 or a layer 2 filter. A filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples may be generated. Based on the generated filtered result for each of the subset of source gNB CSI-RS samples and the subset of target gNB CSI-RS samples, determining whether a handover from the source gNB to the target gNB is to occur.

The wireless device receives a resource grant through a downlink control channel, wherein the resource grant specifies one or more second time slots for the wireless device to transmit an uplink transmission over an uplink channel. The first and second time slots at least partially overlap, and it is selectively determined whether to transmit the sidelink acknowledgment message or the uplink transmission during the overlapping time slots.

Radio link management, beam failure detection and default beam enhancements for high speed train deployments

A wireless network may include a base station and user equipment (UE). The UE may transmit uplink (UL) signals to the base station using a dynamically adjustable maximum UL duty cycle. When the UE identifies that a user is in proximity to the UE, the UE may transmit an indicator to the base station. The indicator may identify that a radio-frequency exposure (RFE) event has occurred and/or a suggested maximum UL duty cycle that would allow the UE to satisfy limits on RFE. The base station may limit a UL grant to the UE so that the UE performs subsequent communications using the suggested maximum UL duty cycle or a different maximum UL duty cycle. Coordinating adjustment of UL duty cycle in this way may allow the UE to meet limits on RFE without requiring the UE to perform maximum transmit power level reductions.

Systems and methods for controlling radio-frequency exposure

Techniques described herein include solutions for enabling NR sidelink (SL) communications by using radio resource control (RRC) to provide ser equipment (UEs) with grant configuration (CGs) for unidirectional and/or bidirectional SL communications. These techniques also include solutions for UEs to obtain channel occupation times (COTs) for SL communications, and procedures for sharing COTs with other UEs, and procedures for CG uplink control information (UCI) of physical uplink shared channels (PUSCH) transmissions for NR in the unlicensed spectrum (NR-U). The techniques described herein also include solutions for channel state information (CSI) feedback for CGs of SL in the unlicensed spectrum (CG-Sidelink-U). In an example method, a user equipment (UE) device receives a slot of data from a base station (BS). The UE device determines a quality of a wireless channel between the BS to the UE device, including determining (i) a metric for a interval extending from a sequentially first symbol of the slot of data to a symbol immediately preceding the first subset of symbols, (ii) a metric for an interval extending from the sequentially first symbol of the slot of data to a sequentially last symbol of the first subset of symbols, (iii) a metric for an interval extending from the sequentially first symbol of the slot of data to a symbol immediately preceding the second subset of symbols, and/or (iv) a metric for an interval extending from the sequentially first symbol of the slot of data to a sequentially last symbol of the second subset of symbols.
