The method includes: detecting lightning and predicting a position and time of a lightning strike to obtain a lightning prediction result; determining a transmission line possibly struck by lightning in a power grid according to the lightning prediction result; determining a load transfer scheme; and before the lightning occurs, transferring at least part of loads on the transmission line possibly struck by lightning according to the load transfer scheme.

A method, computer program product and/or computer system assigns access to a quorum disk in a split-storage cluster environment when a communication link between storage systems fails. Access to the quorum disk is based on storage system I/O performance. Priority is given to the storage system that has a higher performance before the link failure. When the communication link fails, both storage systems attempt to access the quorum disk. If the system that first attempts to access the quorum disk is the non-priority storage system, a timer is started. If the priority system attempts to access the quorum disk within a predetermined time interval, the priority system locks the quorum disk and forms the cluster. If the priority system does not attempt to access the quorum disk within the predetermined time interval, the non-priority system locks the quorum disk and forms the cluster.

The analysis module further calculates an influence factor for each problem, and ranks each problem from most likely to least likely based on the influence factor of the problem.

Automatic problem diagnosis

A method for generating and managing logical units (LUNs) in a storage network environment is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, such a method includes determining a type of LUN, identifying one or more servers that will access the LUN, and identifying a storage system that will host the LUN. The method then generates a LUN name that encapsulates the type, the one or more servers, and the storage system. The method then assigns the LUN name to the LUN. A corresponding apparatus and computer program product are also disclosed herein.

Intelligent LUN generation and management

An apparatus for generating and managing logical units (LUNs) in a storage network environment is disclosed herein. In one embodiment, such an apparatus includes an identification module to identify a type of LUN, one or more servers that will access the LUN, and a storage system that will host the LUN. A mapping module maps the type, the one or more servers, and the storage system to one more abbreviations. A naming module then generates a LUN name that encapsulates the abbreviations. An assignment module may then assign the LUN name to the LUN. A corresponding method and computer program product are also disclosed herein.
