A driver device for providing multi-resolution modes for a display device, a liquid crystal display panel for example, is provided in this invention. This display driver includes a pixel circuit and a gate driving circuit. The gate driving circuit is coupled to the pixel circuit via a plurality of gate lines and determines either an original gate driving signal or a target gate driving signal to be the gate drive signal in response to the gate control signal. Wherein a switch circuit is configured for switching between the original driving signal and the target gate driving signal via a plurality of switches corresponding to shift registers therein. A source driving circuit is further incorporated in this present invention to configure a multi-resolution display device, coupled to the pixel circuit via a plurality of source lines and outputs the source driving signal in response to a source control signal.

Multi-resolution driver device

A liquid crystal display and a dummy-loading device thereof are provided. The dummy-loading device is suitable for a liquid crystal display having a plurality of pixel bands. The liquid crystal display comprises an input signal line to receive image data, and a plurality of horizontal switches and a plurality of shift registers connected in series. The shift registers sequentially shift and output a video control signal for conducting the input signal lines and the pixel bands. A dummy-loading device is disposed in the liquid crystal display, comprising a dummy pixel band, a dummy shift register and a dummy horizontal switch on one side of the liquid crystal display, for providing the edge band compensation to resolve unbalanced imaging.

A method for generating sampling signals for use in an active matrix display is provided. Firstly, a plurality of pulse signals are sequentially generated, wherein every two adjacent pulse signals have a phase difference therebetween. Then, a guarding signal having alternate first level and second level is generated. Then, sampling signals associated with the pulse signals are outputted in response to the guarding signal being at the first level, and any sampling signal is exempted from outputting when the guarding signal is at the second level. A device for generating sampling signals for use in an active matrix display is also provided.
