A wind turbine blade for a wind turbine is provided, the wind turbine blade including: an electrical conductor for conducting lighting strikes towards a hub of the wind turbine, a fiber sock fully enclosing the electrical conductor when seen in cross-section, a support element, and at least one finger connecting the support element and the fiber sock, the fiber sock, the support element and the at least one finger being made of electrically conductive fibers for conducting lightning strikes from the support element to the electrical conductor. Such a fiber sock mitigates the risk of delamination around the electrical conductor resulting from injected high voltages in case of lightning strikes.

A strip for a spar cap is provided, wherein the strip is made from a composite material including a matrix and a reinforcement, and includes a first and second end region connected together in a longitudinal direction by an intermediate region having two mutually opposed longitudinally extending and parallelly disposed intermediate surfaces, wherein a thickness is determinable perpendicular to the two intermediate surfaces and a width is determinable perpendicular to the longitudinal direction and perpendicular to the thickness, wherein at least one of the first and the second end regions is a chamfered end region, wherein the at least one chamfered end region is simultaneously chamfered along the width and the thickness, wherein the at least one chamfered end region has a first edge at the intermediate region and a second edge at its free end, wherein the first edge and the second edge are substantially parallel to one another.

Provided is a method of manufacturing an adaptable pre-cast resin-infused carbon-fiber beam, which method includes the steps of arranging a plurality of elongate carbon-fiber blocks side by side; arranging sheets to enclose the blocks and to extend over opposing faces of adjacent blocks; arranging the sheets to converge as an outwardly projecting elongate bead at a junction between adjacent blocks; and pulling on the elongate bead to inhibit resin flow between blocks during a resin infusion step. Also provided is a pre-cast adaptable carbon-fiber beam manufactured using that method; a method of manufacturing a wind turbine rotor blade; and a wind turbine rotor blade.

Method of manufacturing an adaptable carbon-fiber beam

A wind turbine blade includes an elongated blade body extending from a root to a tip with a trailing edge, whereby at least one beam-like reinforcement means is integrated in the blade body adjacent to the trailing edge for reinforcing the region of the trailing edge, with the reinforcement means extending partly over the length of the blade body, wherein the reinforcement means is a pre-casted carbon beam including carbon fibers.
