An Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system is provided. The UPS system comprises: an input () configured to receive input power having an input voltage level, an output () configured to provide output AC power to a load, a converter () coupled to the input () and configured to convert the input power into DC power having a DC voltage level, a DC bus () coupled to the converter () and configured to receive the DC power, an inverter () coupled to the DC bus () and configured to convert the DC power from the DC bus () into the output AC power and provide the output AC Power to the output (), and a controller () configured to monitor the input voltage level, monitor a level of the output AC power, and operate the converter () to regulate the DC voltage level based on the input voltage level and the output AC power level.

A method and apparatus for controlling distribution of power is provided. The apparatus comprises a plurality of power outlets including a master power outlet (M) and at least one controlled power outlet (S), a control circuit configured to sense a characteristic of power delivered to the master power outlet (M), a relay circuit coupled to the control circuit and a power supply configured to provide power to the control circuit and to the relay circuit. The power supply adjusts a voltage level on the base of the power delivered to the master power outlet. The apparatus can reduce energy consumption.

The apparatus is used for controlling application of power to a plurality of devices including at least one master device and at least one controlled device. The apparatus includes: a power inlet constructed and arranged to receive power from a power source; a plurality of power outlets including at least one master power outlet (M) and at least one controlled power outlet (S); and means for generating a power profile of the at least one master device electrically connected to the master power outlet, determining a characteristic of a stand-by power consumption level of the at least one master device and controlling a supply of power from the power inlet to the at least one controlled power outlet in response to a comparison of a characteristic of power delivered to the at least one master device with the characteristic of the stand-by power consumption level.
