Emergency alert systems and methods for disabled and/or differently abled persons are disclosed. Upon receiving an alert message, the system translates the alert message to an audio message (text to speech) when the text to speech feature is enabled. In some implementations, the system waits for a threshold period of time (e.g., 30 seconds) to receive a user acknowledgment of the alert message, and translates the alert message to an audio message if no acknowledgment is received within this time. The user acknowledgment can be received via a selection of an option (e.g., by clicking an 'OK' button) and/or via an audio option (e.g., by saying “Ok, received”) when the text to speech feature is enabled. The system then outputs (e.g., reads out loud) the translated message so that the disabled or differently abled persons can be informed of the emergency situation. After outputting the translated message, the system can further wait for a user acknowledgment of the translated audio message.

Emergency alert systems and methods for differently abled persons

Techniques for calibrating a barometer sensor of a user equipment over time are discussed herein. In some cases, the accuracy of the barometer sensor may degrade over time. Techniques can include determining that the UE is at a consistent location over time. When the UE is at the location, the sensor data can be captured over time and stored. Data can be grouped by time periods (e.g., weekly, monthly, etc.) and a metric, such as an average value, can be determined. Over time, metrics can be compared to determine a drift in sensor accuracy. Differences in metrics can be used to determine calibration data, such as an offset, to calibrate subsequent sensor data. The offset can be applied to later-captured sensor data to provide more accurate data, which can ultimately result in more a more accurate determination of an elevation of the UE.

User equipment barometer calibration over time

Systems and methods for determining a location of a mobile computing device requesting emergency services are provided. A mobile computing device may receive an indication of a request for emergency services from a user of the mobile computing device. The mobile computing device may receive a first wireless signal from a first device. The wireless signal may include an indication of a first geographic position associated with the first device. The mobile computing device may determine a location associated with the mobile computing device based on the indication of the first geographic position associated with the first device, and may send the determined location to a provider of emergency services.

Enhancing location accuracy in dense urban environment

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein generate an E911 location report based on a vertical uncertainty and horizontal uncertainty associated with a device-based hybrid (DBH) location and an assisted global positioning system (A-GPS) location received from a UE device. The uncertainties may be compared determine which portions of the DBH location and the A-GPS location to include in a location report sent to a PSAP. A location report including the location information associated with the lower uncertainty can be sent to a PSAP, thus providing the most relevant and accurate information so that first responders can more effectively locate a distressed caller.

Uncertainty based selection for location reporting in E911 systems

A configurable radio frequency filter is discussed herein. A device can include a filter component that includes multiple filters coupled between a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) and one or more antennas via individual switches. A filter of the filter component may comprise a bandpass filter configured to pass specific frequencies. Filters of the filter component can comprise pass bands that are mutually exclusive or at least partially overlapping. A device can receive a channel allocation in a Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) band from a Spectrum Access System when initiating a carrier aggregated communication. In response to receiving the channel allocation, the device can select one or more filters of the filter component for filtering signals to and from an antenna component.

Systems and methods are provided for determining the quality of a civic address produced by a reverse geocoder, utilizing the uncertainty of a geodetic location and a distance between the geodetic location and a geocoded location (i.e., a civic address) determined by the reverse geocoder. Upon receiving a request by a PSAP for a civic address corresponding to a UE initiating a call for emergency services, a node initially identifies a geodetic location of the UE and an uncertainty of the geodetic location. The node initiates an API call to a reverse geocoder API. The node receives a geocoded location corresponding to the geodetic location and compares the geocoded location to the geodetic location to determine a distance between them. Based on the uncertainty of the geodetic location and the distance between the geodetic location and the geocoded location, a quality of the civic address is determined.

Systems and methods for providing timely location estimates when a user equipment initiates a call to an emergency number are disclosed. The system enables a user equipment to send the earliest available location that the user equipment can come up with, after detecting an emergency message (e.g., detecting a 911 digit string). This can be done by sending the current location of the user equipment via HTTPS protocol to a telecommunications service provider node (e.g., an end point in GMLC). In this manner, the system avoids a major overhaul of the existing 3GPP E911 location standard while allowing timely compliance of the NG911 mandate.

Device-based timely emergency call routing

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein generate an E911 location report based on an uncertainty associated with a device-based hybrid (DBH) location received from a UE device. The uncertainty may be compared to an uncertainty threshold value to determine which values to include in a location report sent to a PSAP. A civic address associated with a UE device may be included in a location report where the uncertainty is sufficiently low, thus a location report can be sent to a PSAP with the most relevant and accurate information so that first responders can more effectively locate a distressed caller.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media herein generate an E911 location report based on an altitude or an altitude uncertainty associated with an estimated location received from a UE device. The altitude and altitude uncertainty may be compared to determined thresholds to determine which portions of the estimated location to include in an E911 location report sent to a PSAP. A location report generated to include the location information that is based on evaluating the altitude and altitude uncertainty can be sent to a PSAP, thus providing the most relevant and accurate information so that first responders can more effectively locate a distressed caller.

A network base station can select, for each of one or more attached terminals, a respective downlink transmission mode (DTM) based at least in part on respective channel condition information (CCI). The base station can determine a subframe allocation of DTMs to subframes of a radio frame, and transmit downlink data to terminals based the subframe allocation. Additionally or alternatively, the base station can receive load information from a second base station associated with a different access network and determine the subframe allocation based on the load information. The subframe allocation can associate a specific access network with each subframe. Additionally or alternatively, the base station can send the subframe allocation to the second base station. Additionally or alternatively, the base station can determine a proportion of GBR traffic of a particular DTM, determine a reference-signal transmission rate associated with that DTM, and transmit reference signals accordingly.

Wireless telecommunication using subframes

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for detecting, identifying, and locating a source emitting an interfering signal is described herein. The UAV can detect wireless network site interference within a given frequency spectrum band and locate the source of the interference based on one or more signals received by one or more antennas, such as directional antennas. The one or more antennas are located on or within a main body or one or more booms of the UAV. The UAV can be flown manually (e.g., by an operator) or automatically (e.g., by a processor or preset routine).

Locating signal interference using unmanned aerial vehicles

In various examples, upon successful transmission of a device-based hybrid (DBH) location from a UE to a cellular network upon that UE placing an Enhanced 911 (E911) call, a horizontal uncertainty associated with the DBH location is taken into account. If that uncertainty reaches a threshold value, alternative location information in the form of one or more of a Cell Identity (CID) or an Enhanced Cell Identity (E-CID) associated with the UE can be used in generating a location report that is then sent to a Public Safety Answering Point. As a result, first responders may be able to more quickly locate distressed E911 callers.

E-911 methods and systems for DBH horizontal uncertainty

Systems and methods for providing timely location estimates when a user equipment initiates a call to an emergency number are disclosed. The system enables a user equipment and network nodes (e.g., eSMLC/LMF) to send multiple location responses instead of just one so that the PSAP can benefit from accurate location techniques in a timely manner. For example, when a user equipment is located in an outdoor environment, it can immediately send its A-GNSS location after meeting quality-of-service (QoS) criteria, and the eSMLC/LMF can forward the location estimate to the PSAP immediately without first waiting for all of the other location estimates. When location estimates become available from other technologies (e.g., E-CID, or DBH, or both), the eSMLC/LMF can send to the PSAP another location response for that technology. As a result, the PSAP can always have the most accurate and up-to-date location information available to timely and accurately respond to emergency calls.
