A communication apparatus is provided. The communication apparatus includes an RF module for receiving an RF signal, and a down converter, coupled to the RF module, for down converting the RF signal in response to a channel select signal to generate a converted signal. The channel select signal controls the down converter to sweep a plurality of scan trains during a scan frame, and each of the scan trains comprises a plurality of channels, wherein a total channel number of the plurality of scan trains is N, where 32&#x2266;N&#x2266;78. The communication apparatus also includes a detector, coupled to the down converter, for determining whether the RF signal comprises an ID packet according to the converted signal corresponding to the channels of the plurality of scan trains.

A communication apparatus is provided. The communication apparatus includes an RF module, a down converter coupled to the RF module and a detector coupled to the down converter. The RF module receives an RF signal. The down converter down converts the RF signal in response to a channel select signal to generate a converted signal, wherein the channel select signal controls the down converter to alternately sweep a plurality of scan trains during a scan frame, and each of the scan trains comprises a plurality of channels. A patching device and method thereof for patching a firmware function by a patch function. When a fetch address from a processor does not correspond to the firmware function, the patching device outputs an instruction of the fetch address to respond to the processor. When the fetch address corresponds to the replaced firmware function, the patching device outputs an artificial instruction to respond to the processor. The artificial instruction is one of series of machine codes corresponding to a plurality of patch intermediary instructions utilized to direct the processor to jump to the beginning address of the patch function.

In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a Bluetooth module, and a WLAN/WiMAX unit comprising a packet traffic arbitration (PTA) module, and a WLAN/WiMAX module. The Bluetooth module sends a request for Bluetooth signal transceiving to be performed in a Bluetooth time slot to the WLAN/WiMAX unit, wherein the request comprises a length information about length of a transceiving time period for Bluetooth signal transceiving. The Bluetooth module then performs an Bluetooth signal transceiving during the transceiving time period of the Bluetooth time slot after the WLAN/WiMAX unit grants the request. The WLAN/WiMAX unit then performs an WLAN/WiMAX signal transceiving during a residual time period of the Bluetooth time slot in response to the length information.
