Dried reagent strainers, such as cell strainers are provided. Aspects of the strainers include a body having an opening with a filter positioned in the opening, where the filter includes a dried reagent composition. Aspects of the invention further include methods of making and using the strainers, as well as kits containing the strainers.

Dried reagent strainers and methods for making and using the same

One exemplary implementation involves performing operations at a device with one or more processors, a camera, and a computer-readable storage medium, such as a desktop computer, laptop computer, tablet, or mobile phone. The device receives a data object corresponding to three dimensional (3D) content from a separate device. The device receives input corresponding to a user selection to view the 3D content in a computer generated reality (CGR) environment, and in response, displays the CGR environment at the device. To display the CGR environment the device uses the camera to capture images and constructs the CGR environment using the data object and the captured images.

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for assaying a sample. A microfluidic device to perform an assay of a sample (e.g., biological sample) is described having a sample application site, a porous component and a flow channel. The porous component provides for uniform dissolution of a reagent and mixing of the sample and reagent without filtering the sample.

The present disclosure provides methods and systems for analyzing a liquid sample. A micro-fluidic device to perform an assay of a liquid sample is described that includes a sample application site and a vent outlet in fluid communication with the capillary channel. A cap is provided that is configured to seal both the vent outlet and the sample application site in a shared volume and separate from an outside environment.

Methods, systems, and computer programs for managing memory in a host where virtual machines (VMs) execute are presented. In one example, a method includes an operation for determining which amount of heap memory has been reserved in a Java virtual machine (JVM) that is in excess of the heap memory needed by the JVM. If there is excess heap memory, a Java balloon agent reserves a Java object in the heap memory. Typically, the Java object will be the size of one or more memory pages in the host. Further, the Java balloon agent loads the Java object with a certain value, for example, by zeroing out the page of memory. When a virtual machine monitor (VMM) in the host detects that a machine physical memory page associated with the Java object has the first value, then the VMM frees the machine physical memory page to make the memory available to other VMs or to other processes executing in the host.

Cooperative memory resource management via application-level balloon

The present disclosure provides methods for the detection of one or more analytes in a sample. Aspects of the methods include flowing a sample (e.g., a biological sample, such as blood) through a channel comprising an analyte specific capture domain stably associated with a surface thereof, wherein the analyte specific capture domain comprises particles displaying a specific binding member for an analyte; and imaging the analyte specific capture domain to detect whether the analyte is present in the sample. Also provided are systems, devices, and kits that may be used in practicing the subject methods. A computer system having a plurality of processor cores utilizes a device driver running in a driver virtual machine to handle I/O with the corresponding device for other virtual machines. A hypervisor in the computer system receives an interrupt from the corresponding device and identifies a virtual machine that best correlates to the received interrupt prior to forwarding the interrupt for handling by the driver virtual machine. The hypervisor then speculatively transmits a notification to the identified virtual machine to wake up and poll a memory shared between the identified virtual machine and the driver virtual machine. Once the driver virtual machine completes handling of the forwarded interrupt, it copies data made available by the corresponding device to the shared memory for access by the polling identified virtual machine.
