The invention provides a feedback control device and a feedback control method thereof. The feedback control device includes an enhancing circuit and a comparator. The enhancing circuit receives a feedback voltage corresponding to an output voltage of a DC-to-DC converter. In an embodiment, the enhancing circuit generates an enhanced feedback voltage based on the feedback voltage, and the comparator uses a comparison result between a reference voltage and the enhanced feedback voltage as a control signal to a feedback control terminal of the DC-to-DC converter. In another embodiment, the enhancing circuit generates an enhanced reference voltage based on the reference voltage, and the comparator uses a comparison result between the enhanced reference voltage and the feedback voltage as the control signal. In yet another embodiment, the comparator uses a comparison result between the enhanced reference voltage and the enhanced feedback voltage as the control signal.

Feedback control device and feedback control method for DC-to-DC converter

An operation method of a power supply circuit which is provided with an input voltage to generate a positive output voltage and a negative output voltage is proposed. The power supply circuit includes five switches and is electrically connected with an inductor through a first inductor node and a second inductor node. The disclosed operation method includes determining the power supply circuit to operate in a mode, which includes three operation phases, a first, second and third phase. Energizing currents can be generated and provided both to enhance the positive output voltage and negative output voltage by employing the proposed operation method. Since there is no transition of the voltage level of the second inductor node during the second phase to third phase transition, it is believed that the present invention effectively achieves in suppressing redundant power switching loss and providing optimized output power efficiency.

Operation method of a power supply circuit

A power stage circuit generates an output signal according to an input signal and a control signal. A ramp generator circuit generates a ramp signal according to the control signal, the input signal, and the output signal. A calculation circuit generates a calculation signal according to the output signal and a reference signal. The calculation circuit operates in a first mode when the power converter operates in a light loading state, and the calculation circuit operates in a second mode when the power converter operates in a normal state. A control circuit generates the control signal according to the calculation signal and the ramp signal. The control circuit includes a comparator circuit and a control signal generator. The comparator circuit generates a comparison signal according to the calculation signal and the ramp signal. The control signal generator generates the control signal according to the comparison signal.

Power converter and converting method with light loading state control

A power converter includes a power stage circuit, a ramp generator circuit, and a control circuit. The power stage circuit generates an output signal according to an input signal and a control signal. The ramp generator circuit generates a ramp signal according to the control signal, the input signal, and the output signal. The control circuit generates the control signal according to the output signal, a reference signal, and the ramp signal.

Ramp generation in buck converters

A DC-to-DC converter and a PWM device thereof are provided. The PWM device includes a ramp generator circuit, an error amplifier, a comparator and a clamping circuit. The error amplifier compares a voltage difference between the feedback voltage and the reference voltage to output a comparison voltage corresponding to the voltage difference. The comparator compares a ramp voltage of the ramp generator circuit and the comparison voltage of the error amplifier, so as to output a pulse signal. The clamping circuit determines whether to induce the comparison voltage to follow the ramp voltage. The clamping circuit is disabled when the PWM device is operated in the PWM mode, such that the comparison voltage and the ramp voltage are independent of each other. The clamping circuit is enabled when the PWM device is operated in the non-PWM mode, such that the comparison voltage follows the ramp voltage.

A driver and a driving control method for a power converter are provided. The driver includes a level shift circuit, a negative voltage generator and a first PMOS transistor. The level shift circuit provides an output signal, wherein the output signal has a first operation voltage and a second operation voltage. When the output signal received by the negative voltage generator is the first operation voltage, the negative voltage generator outputs the first operation voltage. When the output signal received by the negative voltage generator is the second operation voltage, the negative voltage generator generates and outputs a third operation voltage, and the third operation voltage is lower than the second operation voltage. A control terminal of the first PMOS transistor is coupled to an output terminal of the negative voltage generator. An output terminal of the first PMOS transistor provides a driving voltage.

Driver and driving control method for power converter

A timing generator for a power converter is provided. The timing generator includes a threshold voltage generation circuit and a timing generation unit. The threshold voltage generation circuit receives an error signal related to an output voltage of the power converter. The threshold voltage generation circuit generates a threshold voltage according to the error signal. The timing generation unit generates a timing signal according to the error signal, the threshold voltage and a control signal. The timing generation unit provides a tracking signal. A width of the timing signal depends on a time when tracking signal departed from a level of the error signal to a level of the threshold voltage. The present invention also provides a timing signal generation method for the power converter.

The multi-functional parameter setting method includes the following steps: providing the integrated circuit, wherein the integrated circuit includes a multi-functional pin and a switch unit, wherein the multi-functional pin is coupled to an external setting unit, and the switch unit includes an operational amplifier; sensing a programmable reference voltage of the external setting unit through one operation of the switch unit and executing a first function setting according to the programmable reference voltage; and sensing a programmable reference current related to the external setting unit through another operation of the switch unit and executing a second function setting according to the programmable reference current. wherein a value of the programmable reference current is related to the programmable reference voltage.

Integrated circuit with multi-functional parameter setting and multi-functional parameter setting method thereof

A DC-DC converter including an output stage, a feedback loop, a pulse-width modulation (PWM) generating circuit, and a driving circuit is disclosed. The output stage is coupled to an input voltage and an output inductor to provide an output voltage. The feedback loop is coupled to the output inductor and receives the output voltage to generate a control signal. The PWM generating circuit is coupled to the feedback loop and receives the control signal. The PWM generating circuit also includes a timing signal generating unit which makes the PWM generating circuit to generate a PWM signal according to a correction voltage. The correction voltage is reacted in the output voltage and a first current source related to the input voltage. The driving circuit is coupled to the output stage and the PWM generating circuit and receives the PWM signal to control the operation of the output stage.

DC-DC converter, timing signal generating circuit, and operating method thereof

A control circuit, a time calculating unit, and operating method for control circuit are disclosed. The control circuit is operated in a power converter and coupled to a load. The control circuit includes an output stage and a time calculating unit. The time calculating unit receives a control signal and a reference voltage and provides a switch conducting signal to the output stage. The generation of the control signal is related to an output voltage of the power converter. When the difference between the control signal and the reference voltage becomes larger due to the change of the load, the time calculating unit dynamically increases an on-time of the switch conducting signal.

A DC-DC converter and a voltage conversion method thereof are provided. The DC-DC converter includes an output unit, a control unit and a trigger unit. The output unit converts an input voltage into an output voltage. The control unit generates a control signal according to the input voltage, an output feedback voltage related to the output voltage and a reference voltage, so as to make the output unit generate the output voltage. The trigger unit generates a first trigger signal according to the control signal, the output feedback voltage and the reference voltage. When the output feedback voltage is less than the reference voltage by a preset voltage, the control unit controls the output unit to perform a voltage-regulating process to the output voltage in advance.
