This disclosure provides an image composition system and its method. The system includes: an image capturing unit configured for capturing at least one first image of a real object; a depth information generating unit disposed on the image capturing unit and configured for measuring a depth information between the depth information generating unit and the real object; a computing unit receiving the at least one first image and the depth information, performing the computation of removing a noise caused by a moving object other than the real object from the received depth information, and computing a moving trajectory of the image capturing unit; and a composition unit compositing the at least one first image and a second image of a virtual scene, and display the composited result on a display unit.

System and method for image composition thereof

A virtual image display apparatus configured to be in front of at least one eye of a user includes an image display unit, a first beam splitting unit, and a reflection-refraction unit. The image display unit provides an image beam. The first beam splitting unit disposed on transmission paths of the image beam and an object beam causes at least one portion of the object beam to propagate to the eye and causes at least one portion of the image beam to propagate to the reflection-refraction unit. The reflection-refraction unit includes a lens portion and a reflecting portion on a first curved surface of the lens portion. At least part of the image beam travels through the lens portion, is reflected by the reflecting portion, travels trough the lens portion again, and is propagated to the eye by the first beam splitting unit in sequence.

Virtual image display apparatus

A ranging apparatus including an image sensor, an imaging lens, and a processor is provided. The imaging lens is configured to image an object on the image sensor to produce an image signal having at least one image parameter, wherein the at least one image parameter changes with a change of an object distance of the object. The processor is configured to determine the change of the object distance according to a change of the at least one image parameter. A ranging method and an interactive display system are also provided.

Ranging apparatus, ranging method, and interactive display system

Methods for generating stereoscopic views from monoscopic endoscope images and systems using the same are provided. First, monoscopic images are obtained by capturing images of organs in an operating field via an endoscope. A background depth map of the operating field is obtained for each image. An instrument depth map corresponding to an instrument is obtained for each image, wherein the instrument is inserted in a patient's body cavity. The background depth maps and the instrument depth maps are merged to generate an integrated depth map for each image. Stereoscopic views are generated according to the monoscopic images and the integrated depth maps.

Methods for generating stereoscopic views from monoscopic endoscope images and systems using the same

Methods for generating depth maps from monocular still image or monocular video and systems using the same are provided. First, an initial depth map is estimated or arbitrary defined. For video inputs, motion information can be used, for still image the initial background can be arbitrary set by default, chosen by the user or can be estimated. Estimation of the initial depth map can be based on a contrast map or a blur map. The initial depth map defines initial depth values for the respective pixels of the monocular image or monocular motion picture frames. The respective pixels of the original image or video frame data are mapped to the initial depth map according to positions of the pixels, in order to obtain corresponding initial depth values. An image data space of the image is subdivided into a plurality of sub-image spaces, and the initial depth value of each of the pixels of the image is filtered according to the initial depth values of the pixels located in the same sub-image space, in order to obtain depth information for the pixels.

Method for generating depth maps from monocular images and systems using the same

An optical-see-through head mounted display (HMD) system is provided. The optical-see-through HMD system has a camera for generating image frames, a display device and a processor. The processor proceeds an interactive operation on each image frame. In the interactive operation, an image analysis is performed on the image frame to obtain positioning information of a marker and 3-dimensional information of an input device. According to the positioning information, the 3-dimensional information and eye position of an user, an image shielding process is performed to correct a portion of the frame to be displayed which is corresponding to the input device and a collision test is performed according to the positioning information and the 3-dimensional information of an input device to determine whether the input device touches the virtual image displayed by HMD. Then, an event corresponding to the touch position of the virtual image is executed.

Optical-see-through head mounted display system and interactive operation

An image processing method includes the following steps. An input data including a number of original data are received. The original data are converted into a number of converted emulation voltage signals. At least a simulation circuit model including at least a spatial data node, at least a diffusion node and at least a connection device is established, wherein, the at least a connection device is coupled to a part or all of the at least a spatial data node and the at least a diffusion node. A part or all of the converted emulation voltage signals are supplied to the diffusion node to achieve voltage diffusion among the spatial data nodes and the diffusion nodes via the connection device, so that at least a diffused emulation voltage signal is obtained on the diffusion nodes. Then, processed image data are generated according to the diffused emulation voltage signals.

Method for image processing and an apparatus thereof

A method and a system for developing a new-view image from an original image with a corresponding depth map is provided. The original image has a plurality of original pixels and the new-view image has at least a new-view pixel. The method for developing the new-view image comprises the following steps. According to a corresponding depth value of each original pixel, a corresponding position of each original pixel corresponding to the new-view pixel is estimated. An occupancy proportion of each original pixel occupying the new-view pixel is estimated according to the corresponding position of each original pixel. An estimated color of an estimated partial pixel of the new-view pixel is initially obtained according to the occupancy proportion of one selected original pixel. The estimated partial pixel is updated according to the occupancy proportions and estimated occlusion proportion of the other selected original pixels one by one.
